since mail prices have gone up nearly all junk mail has stopped.... but HL still seem to be able to afford lots of stamps!
they are always sending out the higher rate tax relief leaflet
i get lots of junk mail from HL
you don't get any payment, but they adjust your tax code accordingly I believe.
however if you have paid 40% tax on that money you can claim the additional tax relief by tax return
you pay in £100 and taxman puts in £20 of tax relief based on the 20% basic tax rate
and the rest you can get back if you fill in a tax return!
20% tax relief gets added automatically
well you can claim higher rate tax relief on your pension payments if you go in to the 40% bracket
i pay pension by salary sacrifice, so will see if i can sacrifice whats in that bracket and put it in pension
