Also we have all this talk about OPEC trying to put to shale boys out of business by dropping the oil price, but is it not the case that once oil reaches sixty or seventy dollars a barrel, they just start up again. Would it not make more sense for the shale boys to say that if we keep flooding the market with oil, we will only succeed in putting ourselves out of business. Why not get together and agree to drill only so much oil and keep the price high and we are all winners. A couple of people have said to me that the reason the oil price is so low is a political decision in order to put pressure on Russia.
One of the interesting things about all the oil being drilled in the US, is that there is a very small number of oil refineries in operation. So no matter how much oil they find, there is a bottle neck created by the refiners. [link]
