More news on possible return of Kinross to Ecuador from US Bloomberg Report "President Rafael Correa’s government may agree to renew the company’s rights to the concession, which expired on Aug. 1, to remove legal hurdles to the prospective sale, two of the people said. Alternatively, Kinross may just sell data gathered from its prospecting operations, two of the people said. The government has the discretion to provide an extension of its contract for as long as 18 months beyond the August cutoff, according to the company’s 2012 annual report."
Ecuador is mortgaging its gold bullion to Goldman Sacks according to US news reports. This does not sound good for Solgold investors since it implies that Ecuador is no longer betting on copper strikes i.e. from Solgold exploration, to help bail it out.
I'll ask again: is there an economic metric that helps a junior miner like SolGold decide when further exploration drilling is no longer feasible? I would think investors would want to know how long the race is suppose to last before betting on any horse in the race.
Don't want to sound like a deramper but does SolGold have a target date when they pull up stakes and leave Ecuador? How long can a junior miner keep on drill explore holes without success?
SolGold, nor any other junior miner, can keep exploring forever. Does anyone hazard to guess if SolGold has an endgame date in mind? Typically, how long do junior miners keep exploring?
At what point does exploration drilling stop? Surely, SolGold must have a limit. It can't explore drill forever. Does anyone have a guess as to a pull out date? To me tracking the ups and downs of sp is pointless without knowing the pull out date of SolGold.
Has SolGold given a date when it would pull states in Ecuador if exploration holes don't lead to tangible exploitation targets? Seems to me that by now SolGold should have found something. All their reports still translate to...there might be something down there maybe.
Does anyone know if Solgold has a set target date when they would give up if ongoing exploration produces no results? Seems like recent exploration results are comparable to the early tests, i.e "Shows potential ."
Anyone have any news or insights on who will replace Kinross in Ecuador? I ask because if it is a China company there is a likelihood of a buyout of SolGold down the road.
SolGold is not for the get rich quick crowd unless they know how to manipulate based on insider info. For those who invest based on doing homework, SolGold has potential and legs if the Ecuador government doesn't pull the rug out because of pressure from China, which owns much of the sovereign debt. In my opinion that's the risk or rub in the investment long term.
