Re: share consolidation. Meerkat - If I understand your premise, then your Maths are wrong. A 1 for 15 conversion results in 6,666 new shares in place of 100,000 with a value of £3 per share.
Wreckers Stranglehold. One of the suggestions made to break the Wreckers grip on our SP (as intimated in post yesterday) is the idea of 500m shares being bought which, it was claimed, would move the price up considerably. Seems like a no-brainier to me - surely there are one or two IIs out there who could stump up £100m for a guaranteed return, not only on this new investment but also their existing holdings which will have taken a battering recently. Am I being too simplistic, or is this possible correction strategy flawed ?
No Influence . In over 20 years of casual investing I don't think I've witnessed anything like this share manipulation. It would appear that a handful of traders have total control over the pricing irrespective of fundamentals and market sentiment. Don't quite understand how the Company, it's Advisors, or us long suffering investors can counter this manipulation. Using their technical description of 'Shorters' seems too mild a term - let's henceforth refer to them as 'Wreckers', they wreck the SP; they wreck confidence; they wreck people's finances and, I have no doubt, they have wrecked a few people's lives in the last few weeks. It certainly seems that the Company, in particular, has no counter to their stranglehold and the SP will just be positioned to suit the Wreckers own agenda.
Our Common Goal ? Having visited this DB so many times since first investing in the Company earlier in the year, it strikes me that most, if not all, the regular posters are Private Investors who, like me, are in it purely for long-term capital appreciation (in my particular case, my various holding accounts - ISAs, Sipp, & nominee trading accounts - include the word 'mortgage' as part of the password to remind me that they exist to hopefully pay off my mortgage in 4 years time, at which point the shares will need to be priced at at least £1 to do so). So. Why the interest, worry, and hype in day-to-day news and effect?
New Poster. Credentials - just shy of 500K shares, currently sitting on £30K paper loss, but in for the long term. Been reading this DB for some time now and thought it about time I registered my support for all the positive comments for 'our' company.
