Come on JLP - tick up and stay up please. Let's leave 3 and 4p well behind and never to return. Staggered to see the rise in Lonmin from 15 -45p. That's some rise in a very short space of time for a deep miner with massive debts.
Hi Breezy - that's a good holding at a sensible average. I've got 253,000 at 2.8p having invested £7,188. I should have bought more when they were down at 1.3 - 1.5p back in April. I think we'll both do well here if we can hold our nerve and stay in the game when the big gains come next year. All the best idg69
Hi Breezy, just got back in the office and had a quick peek at the charts. We may not stay above 4 today unfortunately. It can creep up gradually for me - up .2 or .3 every other day wold be fine with me. The odd pull back I could handle as long as it stays above 2.8p What's you your holding/average here these days? Have you sold your Alkane shares or do you have to wait for the buyout to go through. I've never been involved in a share that has been bought out so don't know the format. Happy days ahead I hope my friend. If I could recoup my BHR & CPP losses with JLP I would be unbelievably happy. Have a good day matey and all the best. idg69
Cheers Dude - you're right. Historic market cap valuations are much more meaningful. People buy in to these penny stocks looking at past share price and get giddy that it could go back to those levels (well the naive ones do anyway) JLP will get taken out by a big player before they allow it to become too expensive. We may only get to 10-15 before we get snapped up. That happened to Alkane at 35p as they cold have gone way beyond that if left to run it's course. Great for those who bought in the low 20's but not if you bought in the mid 30's-40's
It amuses me that people on the LSE board are quoting 124p for JLP back in June 2007. Yes it was worth considerably more but the share capital was at about 100 million shares I guess and not nudging the 900 million shares we have today. There are also outstanding warrants to be exercised which will take our share numbers to 1billion plus in the coming years. Those historic share prices don't count for diddly squat in todays market. I'm still happy we are on the climb though.
A good opening price for JLP today - let's see a nice smooth northerly rise please. Take a look at the 5 year Taylor Wimpey charts and we'll take that if you please.
Would be very comforting to see this close over 4p and stay then stay above that level.
Just got back from lunch to find 3.92 on the screen - what a difference a day makes. I think the Sibanye purchase of Aquarius has triggered a bit of interest in the Platinum markets. This can keep pushing north for me. My last top up at 3.9p is almost profitable again.
Morning Dude - there is a shed load of activity across the mining sector this morning. I'm not complaining as the further this moves away from 2.8p the happier I will be. I'm in for the medium to long term or until it gets into the 20's (if that's possible in the short term) and then I'll be taking my profit and departing. I have a lot of losses to make good and then I'll be out of here. All the best idg69
Strange days - this has just pulled back considerably on Google finance.
