12.25p Share Buy Back of 21.6% Shares The company is buying out small shareholders first to reduce costs and then larger shareholders. 12.25p must be a new floor to the share price . It must also show confidence in the trading if they can buy back this many shares. I think that the company is being a bit opportunist with the current low share price, but that is the time to buy back shares so it is a sensible decision and gives a floor to the share price. The money is coming from their existing overdraft facilities. 21.6% is a huge chunk of shares, It is expected that the EPS will increase - so the cost of the overdraft must be cheaper than paying a dividend? If the profits develop well, then presumably there will be more share backs in the medium term if he share price stays low.The B

Re: Beacon Hill Shareholders Action Grou... Jindal would be an ideal candidate to buy there asset(s), crazy they haven't been knocking on there door with an offer, maybe they have but the BOD have refused.I understand the BOD wanting to keep there jobs and that but don't see why at the same time they wouldn't want to also make a successful business long term, given current commodity prices though there's little they can do at the moment to make the business work, I think its more a case of them wanting to make the business work than give up and sell, I'm sure given RK's academic background he would have no trouble getting another job, but can you imagine joining a company and in 2 years saying you, well failed, ran up a load of debt and made no profit, then sold it for a fraction of its potential/what you invested in it. The company has reduced there losses buy over 50% in 2013 compared to the year prior, but still with the commodity price so low the only way they are going to get funding is at a discount to the price at the time of raise which is then sold by the II's and hence the continued drops.Let face it, not worth selling now, might as well see it though to the end, there's not that many possible outcomes here..

Re: Increased holding Dear PDD (deliberate in case you think otherwise...)I really wouldn't take a huge amount of comfort from Schroders purchase for two primary reasons1) If a share falls by 15%+ it is bad news. Schroders have bought the shares because no-one else wanted to. It is not unusual for an existing majority shareholder (Tosca or Schroders for FDL) to buy any surplus to stop further declines.(2) Schroders built up its initial stake in FDL at 20p+ (400p+ in old money). It then followed its money at the two rights issues FDL carried out at distressed prices where FDL raised £160m. The 25% holding which it protected would have cost £40m in these rights issues.Add this £40m to the cost of its previous investments and It is fair to say that Schroders has invested significantly more than £43m which is the current value of its 25%.No reading between the lines on this one, just an institutional investor sat on a large loss. I am also not deceiving anyone, unfortunately for you these are just facts!!If you see someone chasing a loss as good news that's your choice......generally averaging down is a mugs game and even for a household name such as Schroders this has been the case for FDL.1SpponL

A few reasons to buy ive just bought in at 583. ive taken a punt that has been a rather dramatic fall and no real evidence or reason why. no bad news....nothing (as far as i can see). also it has a historically a volatile share price. also it looks like its on the turn i.e. its hit the bottom. so for those reasons ive bought in. hope im right but i dont think it will drop further and will recover. Im not looking to hold for too long I would be happy with a quick 10%
