Re: To invest in Borders Nice movement on the SP today. Very interesting times for the forgotten Falklands Oiler already sitting on condy yet still with potential for billions of barrels of oil. 2p was madness, gone now.

Choo reports surge in sales [link] to buy back in LK -- they even increases their margins and jumped well into profit. Not bad with all the doom and gloom about.Games-- Time to slip back into those shoes, although I doubt they would be much good on the flybridge.

Good entry point An overpriced IPO which is now looking very cheap on an 18 month view. They have big cost savings planned for the next 12 months and are expanding in a fragmented market.

Directors Talk Video posted by Marab I'm reposting as Marab forgot to put a subject heading. You can't get the staff these days! JP on Directors talk video from two days ago.[link] the Directors Talk video.Funding for Tatu looks covered by the recent placing and indicated support from suppliers.Local coal prices higher than international prices.Work should start on Tatu construction in Q1 2016 but sadly the completion date was not mentioned. Personally I doubt that many people are more interested in the start date than the completion date.

Re: Possible buy out at 40p? Its not a done deal. Not at my pc but how much do directors hold. They have to get major shareholders to agree. Will they as this is not a good off

Re: loss Net current assets exceed the existing market cap of the companyProfits on continuing ops look likely to be around the 13-15p level to y/e and judging by the cashflow report from this half I'd expect the company to be generating positive cash from the 2nd half onwards. If that is the case then 5.5p divi looks well covered going forward - it equates to £1m of cashflow.pension deficit is reduced and more importantly the company has been investing in R&D. In general companies that do this reap the benefits later too.

Re: Possible buy out at 40p? Agree. Getting this cheap. But at least they didn't get it for 15p a few years ago. Shows how long I've held TIG. One of my absolute favourites.

RNS -new broker RNS says they have been seeing new brokers to select a new one.The right broker could do wonders for the share price-lets hope news comes on this before results.

Re: market value £16 million-cash &pou... Massive re-rating?? why? If you beleive any increase in cash then you beleive previous results and balance sheet and if enough people did/do then the SP would not be languishing where it is now.The catalyst for a sharp re rating will be a special dividend. The suspicion is that if they have so much cash in a thriving business why is the dividend payout not regular/normal instead of "special"?

Jefferies From Citywire:"Tate & Lyle upgraded on good start to the sale cycleTate & Lyle (TATE) has been upgraded and even the chairman of the company is purchasing extra shares.Jefferies analyst Martin Deboo upgraded his recommendation from ‘hold’ to ‘buy’ with a target price of 605p after the company showed ‘growing signs of improvement’. The shares rose 7.2% to 538p yesterday.‘The 2016 high-fructose corn syrup pricing round in the US has started early and robustly: a sign of confidence,’ he said. ‘Experience shows that high-fructose corn syrup is a barometer of wider speciality food ingredients and bulk economics and that when the cycle turns, it can do so quickly and dramatically. With the shares visiting 500p and yielding 5.6%, we turn positive.’He added: ‘We’ve been quiet since the Q1. Worth remembering, then, that “body language” on the call - on sucralose, [low-calorie sugar] allulose, and life generally – was notably more positive from what had been a bruised and battered team. The chairman has just bought 10,000 shares.’ "

Re: Possible buy out at 40p? Go away big bad wolf. I want to see TIG grow and grow as they're destined to. 40p/share is derisory, total ignores the impetus behind this company.
