Re: Calculation help Citychap2011 ---------- ----"There will always be a tension and difference in opinion between those investors investing based on fundamentals and speculators chasing a fluctuating share price." Citychap2011Ehhhhhhm?Poor bas t ards all those, Citychap, who purely depend on company announcements (or fundamentals, as you call it), to make an investment decision.PI's could end up beeing locked-in for ages without a result whatsoever - or since 2011, Citychap : ))

Re: Update The brakes were firmly on on cycling; let's hope that the actions they intend taking work.Cycling makes up some 34% of Retail revenues; Car Maintenenance 32%; Car Enhancement 22%, and Travel 12%. With Car Maintenance motoring ahead, Car Enhancement doing well, all is not gloom.Interesting that there was no real update on Autocentres. But why the Update? We had one just a couple of months ago, and last year there wasn't one at this time.

Bargain Basement Time It is topping UP time here IMOAll the news from the Management Team seems positive.More news due from NZ and Canada I reckon and this will then move on UP.It looks like someone has had to cash in or has lost patience. This cannot go much lower and the People in the know bought in at 0.6pLets see if my purchase shows as a buy.Give it 9 months to 1 year and you will all be saying, how did I miss that one, IMO.All Aim is a gamble but this silly sp is just a bargain.GLA

Well they accepted it... I've held this since it was 16p so a great upside for me - but I do feel disappointed at the buy out price. Is there any reason to hold onto this now since buy out is the same as current price?

Morgan Stanley says buy. Here is one to note well - "Morgan Stanley issues 'full house' buy alert for stocksAll five of the bank's key timing indicators are flashing a green light for the first time since early 2009, suggesting the worst may be over for global equities..." Will QE4 drive up share prices against the forecasts of a global crash? It is a long article with more discussion.[link] the end of Septemebr, or maybe into October, it will be very, very interesting to compare this to the opinions offered by Bill Holter (see my previous post "VIX Fear" and others such as Egon von Greyerz.AEP offers a balanced view by saying "...Morgan Stanley’s bold call has raised eyebrows since the bank caught the exact top of the European equity market in June 2007 using the same timing indicators, on that occasion issuing a "full house" sell alert. It comes at a treacherous time for global investors as they try to fathom what is really happening in China and brace for the first rate rise in nine years by the US Federal Reserve, a move akin to a margin call for debtors in emerging markets with $4.5 trillion of US dollar liabilities...."

Interims I think they have just put out the same one as last year, you know, 2nd half weighted, lots of products in trials etc etcSame old, same old from Mines & StandenTake a look back at last years interims and it is the same guff about trials and 'nearing commercialisation' except.........it never happenedJust like it is all hot air yet again this timeI note they haven't updated us on the cash position as of today? Why would that be?

VIX fear, "In Crisis Mode" "...Plain and simple, with more shares short than exist, a short squeeze for the ages has been set up. Knowing a big move upward in the VIX is also synonymous with lower stock prices, one can extrapolate (along with many other technical and fundamental weaknesses) a market crash of epic proportions will happen whenever this short squeeze is actually covered...."[link] Market's "Other" Panic Indicator Just Went Off The Charts...today's colossal spike in the Arms (TRIN) Index was a notable addition....Today's move was far greater than "Black Monday's market-halting crash:..."[link]

Re: A view I have dipped my feet in the water 50000 shares. Management have been prudent and have probably saved the company. My investment is a punt with more potential to the upside. The overall trend for oil seems to,be to the upside, let's see how this pans out.

PCI Egypt options Just to be clear - in the last PCI slide deck, they said seismic would be undertaken at the back end of 2016, something that normally takes a minimum of 6 months to process and high grade real prospects, then drill in late 2016 or 2017.The obvious issue here is that PCI need to raise cash, restructure debt, and potentially farm down both Egyptian offshore blocks with a free carry for seismic and first drill IMO.The irony here is that if PCI farm out an additional stake in AT in Algeria, then they are left with the operatorship as a minority stakeholder...which sort of highlights the point many made some time ago i.e. that PCI are a minnow and should never have taken the development PM role in the first place! The only major positive for AT is that the field is supposedly around 10 tcf instead of the initial 2tcf already booked....so once it's up and running, it's hopefully a cash cow of nice proportions.
