Re: Annual results Not the best day to release a gloomily written report. It was so downbeat I had to ask myself why on earth are they not focussing on any of the positives at all. Like tot it made me wonder if a bid would not be far off but probably wishful thinking. I sold half my holding just after 8 for a very small loss as I'd been buying around the 19/20 mark anyway and felt it would fall after that rns, will hold rest for the update and agm and will review after that time whether to increase my holding again.Glaf32

Re: Share price increase This share has been aggressively shorted over recent months, so this is simply a correction to fair value, possibly driven by a short squeeze. They have cash equiv to 4p per share, plus an impending asset disposal. Currently up 25% on TSX as of time of writing. Around 18 months ago, it went from 3p to 8pon technicals, And I think we have a golden cross now.

Re: Elliott lifts Alliance Trust stake t... Personally I am finding myself warming to the invigorated trust management and the way they are developing the portfolio with an SRI bias. The performance has not been that great so far, but the new investment strategy has only been in place for 12 months. I think they need to promote the ethical aspects of the portfolio more - possibly by a name change - which would more clearly distringuish our trust from other more general global offerings.
