VLE gretel 28 Sep 2015

Good interim results today Interims are out, and they're pretty good, showing a nice £0.79m PAT (£0.37m before investment gains) and a 432p NAV:[link] initial standouts: - each of the 4 businesses are doing even better in this H2 than they did in H1 - Shire has continued last H2's form with a pleasing profit in the seasonally weaker H1 - Impetus is only making relatively small losses already post-acquisition - JMP is making slow but definite progress, hindered this time by a couple of one-offs - Sira is progressing, if slowly, and remains profitable - VLE have almost £12m net cash against the £17m m/capI'm guessing that VW will soon need plenty of help from Impetus in helping "the effectiveness of vehicle manufacturers' sales and after-sales networks"!One negative is a loss in value on investments in the period.

Re: From todays EKF's RNS Good spot Nice.Should be good for Angle but EKF need to get sorted on heir reorganisation and the collaboration will hopefully kick on more quickly.

From todays EKF's RNS "PointMan................ Following some technical issues earlier in the year, we are now finalising the verification and validation process for the PointMan amplification technology with the intention of completing the CE Marking process in H2. In addition the partnerships with ANGLE, Gilupi and MGH continue to progress. The exquisite sensitivity of the PointMan technology enables us to detect three copies of a mutant gene in a standard blood draw, which will lead to a reduction in repeat tissue biopsies for cancer patients globally......."N&S

Re: First purchase Hi Greyinvestor and welcome aboard. As a cautious dividend seeker, I really like this share. It is not linked to China, Banks or oil and appears largely unaffected by dramatic market movements.I am therefore intrigued by your enthusiasm for CNKS. I really like the divi, but would that share not plummet in the event of a stock market collapse? Apologies for using this board in connection with a different share.CheersBob

Re: Marginal Field Delivery Website Welldone W2R for finding ANY mention however small, the big question for me is why Enegi has failed to tell it's shareholders about Fyne, this has cost not only a shedload of time, but a shedload of very scarce raised dosh too. ABTOG missed the submission for FDP, lost their footing with WG and Antrim said ferkit we've had enough of this borlocks marginal stuff and decided enough is enough, P&A all 3 suspended wells, On top of that, Enegi, ABTOG, the CONSORTIUM failed to find common ground with Antrim to save the field forward plans, along with Enegi now holding nearby associated licences that are worthless without Fyne to add into the greater equation. Lets not even bother about the flop deals done with Jordan & JV's in NF, along with squandered cash on bum buyback of stock with debt finance that is borderline worthless.I actually think the only winners in the last 5 years or more is RMRI who charged handsomely for their homemade and likely worthless evaluations and the Minty hefty price for a stake of ABT that should have been ENEGI in the first place and that Buoy is so far from a reality from where ABT had it that it is likely 10 years and a shedload of someone's money to get it off the ground, & SIFT is not really anything other than a 3rd party concept.I have not heard or seen anything that makes this a remote glimpse of a buy, not even a hold in my opinion. CVR FTO minority action. Hi GuysJust back from the Algarve. I've just gone throu' the emails for the last week and found 3 relating to the FTO minority action, this is something I enquired about but like Bravon wasn't comfortable with. Each of these emails relate to the difficulty contacting the instigator of the proposed action Alan Mercer, having signed up and parted with their subscription to the proposed action. While I'm not suggestion any wrong doing it does show why these schemes need more than an email address to convince me to part with my hard earned cash.Regards Jag3

WILL NEW CEO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE? Visiting my local Toby carvery today which was at capacity and 45 minute wait for a table during which time bar was on hand for a couple of pints.I wonder how a chain which has such high turnover has been in doldrums for so long. Localmanagement confided that previous CEO had been a disappointment but with 1700 pubs andrestaurants its going to need someone with immense charisma to gain respect down to thegrass roots. We had an excellent portion of beef but the manager said he struggled with irregular quality. Recently had to cut slabs of fat from a joint with impacts on his profit and that lodging complaints about poor quality supplies was difficult when there were hundreds of similar outlets. Will be interesting to watch whether new man can make a difference.

Update Update due on Tuesday or Wednesday that should propel the SP well beyond .50p Ther is massive upside here IMO and once the media pick up with the potential we could well sey the SP well above 1.50p The downside could be a T/O that takes away longer term potential for the SP

Re: NEW ARTICLE: City warms to Thomas Co... "One on the nose for Orchard Gate"Ouch yes that hurt! LOL. But back on planet earth, where I live, since I suggested Uphill Struggle's relentless bullishness might be misplaced the shares has collapsed 21% (in just 4 months). So one rather large one on the nose for those like you and him who said people should buy these shares at 148p.Come back when you have a worthwhile point to make.
