Re: You with Tempus or Questor ? Telegraph details:"Insurance challenges leave Saga looking expensive: Saga, the over-50s group, enjoyed a rise in motor insurance policies in the first half of the year, helping nudge up trading profit and sending the shares almost 3% higher. The group, which currently has two ships in action, the Saga Pearl II and Saga Sapphire, said demand for cruise holidays was outstripping supply. Group trading profit in the first six months ticked up by 1% to £117.5 million, helped by an 11% rise in earnings in the travel business and 2.6% rise in profits from the motor insurance division. The reported pretax profits increased from £42.2 million to £101.3 million in the first half, but the majority of that difference was explained by £50.8 million in costs that were incurred last year when the company listed. Questor remains more cautious on the outlook. The majority of the revenue growth, and about half the earnings growth in the travel business, came from the £20 million purchase of the online luxury tour operator Destinology in August last year. The debt is a legacy of the previous private equity Owners, CVC, Permira, and Charterhouse, who have reduced their stake from 72% of the shares to 44% during the past nine months, and who are more than likely to look for a complete exit within the next 12 months. Saga at 205.5p +4.4p. Questor says “Sell”.

ETO nk1999 02 Oct 2015

Telegraph- Questor "The Questor Column:Hold Entertainment One as it goes big on Peppa Pig: Shares in eOne, formerly Entertainment One, fell to a two-year low after the company announced a £200 million rights issue to fund the purchase of a bigger stake in the Peppa Pig maker Astley Baker Davies. The deal will see the FTSE 250-listed company increase its control over Peppa Pig profits to 85%, from 50% previously. Investors are being asked to take up their rights in a 4 for 9 share issue to raise £194 million net of expenses. Revenues from distributing films make up 75% of the group total, with the balance largely made up of TV shows. Revenue from films was down 13% last year, after a sharp slowdown in revenue from box office releases. This was offset by strong growth in the TV business on the back of Peppa Pig sales. The shares are down 20% from our initial advice (Buy, 311p, January 7), and until we get a clearer picture of the earnings we downgrade to a hold. Entertainment One at 248p -24p. “Questor says Hold.” "

buy shares mag courtesy of Alliance Trust newsletterGood start for Hansard8.3% yield looks achievable after stronger first quarterMark DunneLife assurance and savings provider Hansard Global (HSD) looks a solid, high income stock as management reveal first quarter sales (July to Oct) are ‘significantly’ ahead of those recorded in the same period a year earlier, according to an update on 23 September. The Isle of Man-based company is forecast by Panmure Gordon to pay a huge 9.1p a share dividend, equivalent to an 8.3% yield on the current share price, for the year to 30 June 2016. It paid 8.7p a share dividend, in the year to 30 June 2015. The first quarter is usually the weakest period for the £150 million cap but sales recorded in the opening three months of its current financial year are similar to those made in the final quarter of the year to 30 June. Hansard, which administers more than $1 billion for 528 financial advisers around the world, is seeing the benefits of its new strategy to expand the number of global advisers selling its products. The small cap specialises in tax-efficient products held in life assurance wrappers. Shares saysBUY : "Early signs point to a good year for high-yielding Hansard at 109p."

CAL forwardloop 02 Oct 2015

shares mag courtesy of alliance trustCapital’s leisure moveShopping centre owner to diversify interests in pre-emptive moveMark DunneShopping centre investor and manager Capital & Regional (CAL) is working to protect its portfolio from the effects of another economic downturn by having greater diversification, principally adding more leisure outlets to its properties. The £470.9 million cap, which became a real estate investment trust (REIT) in January to help it access growth capital, owns six shopping centres and has interests in two further malls. Retail properties were hit hard following the financial crisis as several chains went bust, such as entertainment retailer HMV and clothing outlet Peacocks. Managing a £1 billion portfolio of such assets makes Capital & Regional vulnerable to another downturn, but it is looking to avert such a crisis by altering the tenant mix within its centres to include gyms, restaurants or hotels. One example is its property in Ipswich, which is being turned into what management describe as a ‘cinema-led, restaurant-supported retail-leisure hybrid’. ‘The shopping centre of tomorrow is going to look a very different animal in the sense that the amount of non-retail is growing significantly,’ chief executive Hugh Scott-Barrett tells Shares. The new strategy is the result of leisure not being seen as discretionary as people prioritise leisure spend over retail, management claim. Capital & Regional is even planning to diversify into residential. The expansion of its shopping centre in Walthamstow, London includes an opportunity for a residential development. The REIT is forecast to pay 2.9p dividend a share in 2015, according to Numis, equal to a 4.3% yield at the current share price of 67p. Shares says:BUY "Sound asset management strengthens Capital & Regional’s defensive characteristics."

I was at the presentation and spoke to John afterwards. I went away feeling happy that I had made the decision to invest in Cyan. Like all of us I would much prefer news of orders sooner rather than later but I bought into Cyan because I can see the possibilities for a good return on my investment. If Cyan do well, John and Simon do well and so do I. I expect the share price to be much higher a year from now or I will eat my hat. DYOR then choose to stick or twist, I am sticking!

Re: W T F?!?!?!? "I am well aware of the talk of it being another non-company or a fraud but at anything around this level the shares look very cheap"I don't understand: if it's a fraud how can the shares ever look "cheap"? Did shares in Naibu look cheap before its own board admitted it was a fraud? If you lose your money you have no one to blame but yourself. Most normal people if aware an investment might be a fraud avoid like the plague.
