Re: R.I.P. MXP Yep R.I.P. MXP...Back in 2010 my daughter had a son and named him Max. Seeing that there was an AIM Oily company called Max Petroleum, I decided to invest £1K in MXP, on behalf of our new grandson. We managed to get 6,200 shares at 16p for our grand (son). Here we are and our Max is at school coming up to 5 years old. unfortunately Max's grand dad is now £1K worse off money wise but so much richer with a fantastic grandson, now joined by a little grand daughter. Luckily the grand daughter was named Megan not Xcite energy..... thank god.

Re: Big fall The fall in share price is most likely a reaction to the escalation of activity in Syria caused by the Russians firing missiles from their warships. This could quickly get out of hand and affect flights in/near that region. Fuel supplies may also be affected.Watch this space.Yes, a good time to buy if you've got steady nerves.

NCYF Krayl 07 Oct 2015

Re: Anything else like NCYF? Hi GuitarSolo,If you do a simple search of the FTSE using your criteria of 6%, cover 1.2 you get 26 results: ARDN, BAF, CLLN, CNCT, CNKS, CRM, ECM, FLK, GLEN, HYDG, ICGC, JDT, JRIC, MLIN, MNZS, MXF, NPT, PEY, PHNX, POLR, RQIH, RWS, SRP, STAN, TNG, UKCMSome of these can be dismissed immediately (for example the first one on the list has stopped paying dividends). I am working my way through the list and would be interested to hear anyone else's views.I would not insist on on having 1.2 cover, for example my favourite interest earner is IPE and that is not in the list. I am also considering HSD and ALY at the moment.

Re: Waiting The thing I find interesting is oddo is based in France. Is someone buying via a French investment company? ODDO can still vote to accept BB offer. It's going to be a close call for BB to get 90%. Assuming they don't I would expect a higher offer.

Well sometimes it pays to look back to 2009 when Metorex held 54% of PAF already with JN as CEO. Metorex was in rough water and "decided" to sell their non-core asset PAF which happened, and later Metorex was taken over by the Chinese. JN knows quite a bit of rough weather!
