Mr Market is saying that the deal is not going to go through at £43.50.I must say, the stratospherically high share price of SAB makes me absolutely delighted to be holding Diageo, which is far cheaper by any standard and is arguably MUCH better value than SAB, particularly given the hidden value concealed in its maturing stocks of hooch.One thing about hard liquor, which does not apply in the case of beer companies like SAB and ABInBev, is that the balance sheet value of the inventory understates the true value of the company.LKH on the flybridge no position in SAB

Re: Bargain or Bust Looking good,for now,but the new senior management team would not have signed up unless they thought they could turn Coms around & make a load of dosh for themselves.Prob for me with these situations is that I may buy a small number,to have an interest, but I would not be prepared to buy a large enough number for it to make any difference if it does come good.There is still a very long way to go here before anyone can afford to be complacent

Re: Anything else like NCYF? Thanks for the reply GS, very well put.It does seem odd that in the current low interest climate, as you say, more people aren't coming over to these sort of funds. I'm still decieding what to do with some "low risk" cash and I will be looking deeper in to this fund over the coming weeks.This is a great thread also, thanks everyone!
