Citi From ADVFN:"Citigroup upgraded Ladbrokes to 'neutral' from 'sell' and raised its price target to 110p from 100p, saying the shares have now fallen far enough. It said the new target represents the mid-point between the upside potential it sees under a deal scenario and the downside risk under a no-deal scenario.Citi estimated the share price upside potential from a merger with Gala Coral at around 30% and the downside risk if no deal emerged also at around 30%."The competition authority investigation will rumble on for several more months, dampening any need to take a strong view in the shorter term," the analysts said.Citi added that the two key catalysts that could drive a more positive view were trading updates citing an online pick-up, with a rise in active customers and net gaming revenues, and CMA deal clearance arriving earlier than the bank's mid-2016 expectation."

Re: 2 directors Investing? I think you'll find that platinum's use generates more from the automotive industry in terms of exhaust systems and catalytic convertors! If only I had listened to the 'never loose money' advice... silly me, fancy me investing in a loss making share... note to self 'don't do this again!'.Can someone send me a list of those shares that don't make a loss please, I don't seem to have it to hand - I promise I won't 'share' it!

Re: 12 down .... I love the fact that you're bragging about having collected a 1.5p div paid in Dec 14. The ex date for which was 30 July 14 at which time the shares were changing hands at 88p having fallen steadily to that level. So in other words you paid a minimum of 88p for your shares, and you're down at least 94%. But let's not worry about that as you got a dividend! Ever heard of total return calculations? Or IRR?Maybe I could sell you some shares. I promise to pay you a dividend. But you won't get your investment back. How does that sound? Some people deserve to lose their money.

Trading or investing? If you're good enough to trade stocks, good luck to you.Warren Buffet doesn't think he's good enough to trade so he invests. He's done OK.

Re: What will drive this Higher? price should drift higher next week as options expiry is not until Friday and the bucket shops that bet against clients got this one round their teets, hence suppression of SP so the 40 calls that were peanuts a couple weeks ago expire worthless or with little upside. They can keep it as long as they like, even dropping the price to 37 again would be great, money in the bank as they say 3D (punters 1 bucket shops 0)

JLG triceratops 13 Oct 2015

Re: Why the drop I assume at least part of the drop is to do with Henderson Fund I investors (who hold a big portion of these shares) are selling out after receiving the stock distribution last week. I see these as being good value and have added some more today. Partly because the NAV at end of June was 224p almost entirely made up of the PFI assets. If these are sold to JLIF the quoted infrastructure vehicle which has first refusal on the JLG assets they'd in all probability trade at a small premium as investors pile into the safety of the partially inflation linked pfi assets. So the current vacation implies a negative valuation for the business brand that is John Laing and the pipeline of new business it is bidding on which makes no sense. There is a small pension deficit attached to this but the whole is mostly filled so Im not sure thats a major contribution.I may be missing something here but they do seem a bit of a bargain..tops
