Out of the ashes .... a time to BUY.The recent fall is due (imo) to the down-rating by analysts Liberum in the Guardian news article yesterday. They changed their view from Hold to Sell on Barratt, Persimmon and T.Wimpey; whilst recommending Bellway and Gleeson. But as usually happens, the sector as a whole has sunk.This is an excellent opportunity to buy whilst the price is depressed.HnL

I was doing some research looking for shares to buy and decided it was worth looking at Altman Z to reduce risk of buying a company that goes bankrupt. Happened to notice that VED had a very low (bad) Altman Z score. Later found that normal 5 factor criteria only applicable to manufacturing companies. Even with modified 4 factor Z score VED is risky due to level debt. The flip side is that if things go well for VED SP will shoot up.

Overall I think that we are probably in the same ballpark, I think that Grant Thornton probably did the normal level of due diligence that was expected of them but that given the deliberate non-disclosure of the connected party relationships then there was probably nothing more that they could do.Costis provided reasonable explanations to many investors, including FORUM who stuck millions in only a few weeks prior to collapse. hiya ,end of summer here as promised, lets see,wasnt doing so well last visit and ooops now at year low. sorry to be a misery but i would like to show a return on my dosh and it aint happening.perhaps the incentive scheme could be adjusted, getting the price up to ( lets be ambitious here ) up to 7 even 8 pence would put me in a happy place.well before the wrath of the posters falls about me ime off to amlin,isg,chesnara,, happy days will drop in again in march, have a good christmas
