Re: Disclosures bt - its proving very hard to find any certainty as to what PDL is up to, BUT it looks as though there might be a bit of a recovery over the next few days. The fact the SP has been under the 10 day EMA for most of the past month just show how poor sentiment is - the last time the SP moved near the 26 day EMA was a month ago! It would be great if the SP could move up to it reasonably soon, but......Don't have much conviction the downtrend has run out of steam yet, but it will be interesting to see how much it bounces if it does. Today was the first blue day after 8 in the red!

Imperial Tobacco hits all time high From yahoo "Shares in Imperial Tobacco touched an all time high on Monday amid fresh speculation a tie-up between the UK-listed cigarette group and Japan Tobacco is imminent. There has been takeover talk about the pair recently, but this time the amplified bounce in the share price came as traders said the higher trading volumes suggested Japan Tobacco (Other OTC: JAPAF - news) could bid for the company very soon. However, other chatter in the City pointed to three other possible suitors, including British American Tobacco and Altria Group (NYSE: MO - news) . Guy Ellison of Investec Wealth and Investment, suspects a deal with Japan Tobacco alone would encounter antitrust issues in certain markets, such as the UK, and as a result, disposals to a third party would be required - most likely British American Tobacco."I really hope that if true, they fight this AstraZeneca style - IMT is a great defensive income share for hopefully years to come, and do not want it to go the way of NWG a few years back.TN

PCI Fusion98 16 Nov 2015

Income Hello, Does anyone know if this company makes a profit currently?I have lost track with all the sales and non communication from the board as they seem very pre-occupied fending off attacks than getting on with the job in hand.Good news today is that Saudi have recognised that oil price of $40 is not sustainable and would prefer it to be about $80 where they see it rising to in the next 18 months, shame no one else does.Fusion98

Jefferies From ADVFN:"Jefferies downgraded Spire Healthcare to 'hold' from 'buy' and slashed the price target to 285p from 400p following the company's second profit warning in three months last week.It said the warning highlights the increasing uncertainty Spire faces as the NHS adjusts to the current funding squeeze. On Thursday, Spire cut its full year revenue guidance as it said revenues from NHS Local contracts continued to decline in the four months to the end of October.Spire said NHS Local contract revenues were down 39% for the four months ended 31 October. The company said it now expects full year revenues to show growth of 3% to 3.7%, or between £882m and £888m, down from previous guidance of 4% to 6% or £890m to £907m."Whilst excellent cost control helps mitigate some of the impact, we await clarity on the National Tariff decision in January 2016 before reassessing long-term prospects," Jefferies said."SP ~ 307p today.nk

Take your pick The BOD of Red Rock, Alba and Regency are now all well oiled.Have they got insider information about an industry that every other oily is either cuttingcosts substantially, increasing output to cut the oil cost but maintain market share(and that's the majors),or selling out before they go bustA brave move or a lack of foresight?Looks like dilution is the only certainty.

JQW Sienna1 16 Nov 2015

Website activity The JQW website was completely down Sunday morning, but was restored in the afternoon.Since then all the links I've tried appear functional (apart from one), and one can now link direct to individual advertising company websites, with a full range of products, and the email links to advertisers also work. Some advertisers appear to have uplinked material to JQW within the last week or so.This appears to be a significant improvement on website activity over the last few weeks where many of the links were broken, and accessing individual advertisers appeared to be impossible.Maybe JQW is close to declaring itself (or being declared) operational again?

UK security to be intensified "Paris attacks: UK security to be intensified - Theresa May• 25 minutes ago• From the section UK… Speaking in the Commons, Mrs May confirmed that new funding would be made available for an extra 1,900 security and intelligence officers at MI5, MI6 and GCHQ - an increase of 15%.The announcement on Monday that Britain's intelligence and security agencies are to be given a massive boost in resources has taken some there by surprise. Expecting a modest boost in the coming Strategic Defence and Security Review, they have now been told they are to get a 15% increase in headcount, raising their numbers by 1,900. For MI5, the Security Service and MI6, the Secret Intelligence Service, this will take some time to absorb, perhaps years. They will need to find, recruit, vet and train new intelligence officers largely from scratch. But for GCHQ, the government's secret listening station in Cheltenham, it will be relatively easier for them to recruit already-qualified IT analysts and linguists from the commercial marketplace. …"[link]
