Re: Great results An additional £50m of buy-backs ought to support the price you'd imagine.Hovering around 3% yield on 2015 dividend, so c. 3.3% for 2016? Not overly excited here, but looks a "safer than most" place to park some spare cash for a couple of years while for the small cap sector to find a bullish period.

Re: Strong Update - Price crash But we had this type of post on the Tesco BB because posters were making flawed assessments of the accounts, they took them at face value, didn´t have the ability to question & reason. Fist of all you need to look at the methodology of the accounts. You need the ability to reason that is fundamental. Should investors not start to ask questions about accountants?First of all you need to use different mathematical models. What about the chance/probability of when a share falls 8% on results day, the average SP then reacts over the next 6-12 months. Mathematical chance/probability theory is how things like weather are calculated.Let´s cast our mind backs to 2007, builders results were impressive but they were not telling the real truths about the health of the business. You must consider both macro/micro when assessing a business. If you ignore one you´re in heavy trouble. I think the macro heavily outweighs the micro.

Re: Missed production targets coupled with..... ...creeping extraction costs......honestly!---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- Good morning I am your Huckleberry/AllSo let's look at this in context.Lomada was expected to produce 31,000 oz this year and that forecast has now been slashed by over 30% to 21,542. Our cash costs per ounce have increased mainly due to lower than expected production and lower than expected exchange rate - plus we have had poor machine availability impacting our mining performance. Clearly our management are demonstrating great skill by being in tight control of our finances - production and mining operation logistics! But look on the bright side - we are looking to spend a 'shed load' of money that we don't have by expanding into Uruguay to chase another opportunity having made such a success out of our Patagonian gold plays.Your really couldn't make it up.Good luck all...

Re: Strong Update - Price crash Hardcore Uproar,I specifically asked for Hydrogen Economy (or someone equally skilled) to cast their eye over the BVS situation, after a steep fall in share price, unique to the company, after a trading update pretty much confirmed business as usual (Ie. Good, but not quite as efficient execution as others in the sector). He gave his time and effort to respond in a constructive manner, then you slag him off directly. That is the type of behaviour that will kill off the usefulness of ii boards. You're entitled to your own views but if you want people to keep on reading them, I suggest you don't discourage the few people who actually post, let alone the far fewer, such as Hydrogen Economy, who make responsive and constructive and helpful contributions. Thanks again for your contribution, H2.

Improved return coming Today's announcement of the sale of the US business explains why we have heard nothing about a distribution. It's disappointing not to have any guidance on the timing of a distribution in liquidation, but understandable. I would hope they will be able to say more at the EGM.Nevertheless it seems they should shortly have no debts and about US$ 100m of cash which is equivalent to about 230p per share. It ought to be possible for the liquidator to distribute the bulk of that within 3 months of being appointed. So a pretty good return in prospect with v little risk and a better outcome than a smaller return and being left with the rump US business.I'd expect the price to go higher once people have worked that out.

Suddenly the bus go quiet You have your second chance to join Eadwig, at an even lower yet no one appears to be taking this glorious special offer.Who are Bovis, accountants? Go back to 2007, when builders were posting record results, many in 2007, were accusing builders of manipulating accounts.

Re: Thanks Claude I'd echo the thanks to Claude or doing that research. This is part of my portfolio as I'm basically just following SCSW model portfolio III as part of my SIPP pension pot. So that's all the gains I had made wiped out in a single day! C'est la vie.But I couldn't resist an additional punt in my ISA at these prices and got 1,456 @ £2.3343. Time will tell if that was wise!LH

Great results I'm only a holder of the Paragon Group 6% bonds (2020 and 2024), but after today's results I am strongly disposed to buy some shares as well!

We benefited from good growth in our Products and Trade related businesses which represent 90% of the Group earnings, while as expected the trading conditions remained challenging in our Industry Services businesses. The Group remains strongly cash generative and we have continued to invest to take advantage of the attractive growth prospects in our markets with capex initiatives and acquisitions. These acquisitions position Intertek as a leading 'one stop shop' service provider for its clients in the rapidly growing US commercial and civil construction markets. The Group has a diversified profitable business and is well positioned to benefit from the attractive structural growth prospects in our markets based on our global network of state of the art facilities, the breadth and depth of technical expertise inside our organisation and the quality of our Testing, Inspection, Certification and Assurance service offering."Games
