NEW ARTICLE: Rolls-Royce rockets as plan unveiled " There was a muted response to the teaser put out by LSE:RR.:Rolls-Royce early Tuesday. Edison increase forecasts today Edison's new report has "increased current-year EPS estimates by 6.7% and by just over 2% in both FY17 and FY18".They now go for: this year : 21.1p EPS, 6.4p divi next year : 22.6p EPS, 6.8p divi[link] Conclusion: "Valuation: Good value and potential for moreFollowing our increase in estimates, Norcros’s P/E multiples are now in single digits in all three forecast years. With a three-year EPS CAGR of 11.1% the company’s PEG ratio is 1.0x. In EV/EBITDA terms, an FY16 5.7x multiple reduces to 4.5x by FY18 on our estimates (after adjusting for pensions recovery cash). Business performance is good and if Norcros can further supplement this with more acquisitions, the above multiples could turn out to be significantly lower at the current share price"

Another factor of interest SGH reckon there is now 27% brand awareness in the UK. ( It is 80 something in OZ)Clever stuff if you are already the biggest beast in a market and are digging in for the long term.Mr. Greech clearly needs to inject good corporate Treasury Management skills into the mix, since he has a big CT bill over the horizon. However his presentation notes that the WIP purchased is tax deductible. Hope he has Queen's council opinion on that.Mel

Re: Slater and Gordon Gosh, Mr D'Arcy ,I have just read this :[link] does not look as if he has much breeding mr D'Arcy. My word he even looks like Master Terry. Clearly not a descndant of one of those noble jacobite slaves. Well Mrs. Bennet. According to SGH , WIP takes 18-24 months "to conclude" and cash in is 116% of average WIP in the year before. That is what you would expect with 44% gross margins. It was obvious overall cash would go out, not in, following the PSD acquisition. Greech will have his foot firmly on the brake, until he gets to the cash generation feelgood .I see Mr D'arcy. So he will have less cash not more. How can he possibly do that?Well, Mrs. Bennet, he will have a cash budget and has ensured that there is quite enough to cover the hump as he puts it. But would he be able to pay for a wedding? Mr. D'Arcy. You would not wish one of your daughters to have a very short engagement Mrs Bennet.I rather think he will be able to pay for 2 million weddings this time next year when it is obviously all falling into place. There is one thing I might add Mrs Bennet. And what might that be Mr. D'Arcy?I am quite taken by the fact that SGH does not seem to overpay him Mrs Bennet. Oh dear Mr D'Arcy. Does that mean a small wedding ?Mrs. Bennet. I would encourage you t focus on the legacy your grandchildren might expect. It will not be small.Mel

Re: new possible offer at 73.5p We could possibly see the original bidder increasing his bid to around 75p.

Charity or money maker? I live in an area of very severe deprivation and Poundland is always packed with shoppers. We have two stores within 100 yards of each other in our town. The older, smaller one was due to close earlier this year to complete the move to a larger premises, but both stores remain open and busy. I bought Poundland this year based on the evidence of footfall in our local stores. Now, it looks like pre-tax profits may not get above 1% of turnover on the current business model, which makes this company look more like a charity than a profit making enterprise. However, given the clear demand for value, and some level of profitability, I am happy to support Poundland as it meets a clear need and I enjoy shopping there. I believe investment is not always about how much money I can make.

interims I wonder how much revenue UUW has given away to become a competitive water provider in Scotland? I can't believe that becoming a player in that super competitive area is something that will drive earnings forward. UUW need to concentrate on getting it right in their patch instead of paying out £M to build a business that is unlikely to pay its way.

Re: info I can only see the sp at current levels as a major buying opportunity, alternatively private shareholders taken for a ride if the company is bought out at wet below market value. Trading is at low volume which shows Egdon just isn't on anyone's radar as a buy. I'm sure that will change .?

Re: Vaziri update The reason you are here is because you have been humiliated. That is obvious. You can make up whatever fantasy you want. It just makes me yawn. I don't feel humiliated, I'm not going to follow you across boards, I don't care. Hope that helps.
