Brexit Wars 3 Priti Patel…no smoke without fire! Frog
Brexit Wars 3 HuwJarse: Amuses me that you think the EU is growing faster than the UK. Even a child can see that is not the case now. I’m sure many small things amuse you, @HuwJarse. It mildly amuses me that you wont accept the IMF’s projections of faster EU growth but, to use your own characterisation, you expect me to trust some pro-brexiteer rag’s forecasts. Tell us which part of the dotted line projection you’re struggling with and we can pass that on to your therapist. Or is it the part that shows EU growth clearly above the UK now and in the future? You never know, it might help as you are denying all such scenarios and have been for a while. Its probably a symptom. image.png1413x950 136 KB You’re not far wrong about it being obvious to a child. A child could indeed count the cranes across Eastern Europe and in like-sized UK cities and come to the conclusion that growth is much greater in those countries. The only thing a child might get confused over is when they try to add in the older, more stagnant, Western economies, like E.g. the UK. I can see why a child would struggle there, As adults, of course, we go to the most trusted neutral forecasters, such as the IMF and world bank, for their view. Averaging the two we get UK growth, now and forecasted 1.4% (too high in my opinion without very large immigration) and EU growth now around 1.85% and falling towards 1.5% under-done. You go on blaming the corona virus though, like it isn’t coming to the UK too. In years to come you’ll be saying, once we nearly exceeded the EU in growth, but the corona virus ruined it for us.
LLOYDS is going to FLY trader_jack: One thing that I would have liked to have done on my spreadsheets but was unable to fathom, even with all the help provided by Prefinvestor, was to somehow get my spreadsheets to update themselves automatically which would save me some time in ploughing through everything I wanted to update manually Why do you think that upgrading and paying more for Excel is going to help you in setting up the formula and automation to pull in prices etc? You are certainly able to do that in Excel 2007 and earlier versions.

LLOYDS is going to FLY trader_jack: Currently I have Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 which has served me well for my limited needs but has now been retired by Microsoft and will no longer receives support. As Prefinvestor points out that could lead to problems the longer I stay using it although why anybody would want to hack me is beyond me. I have various protection programmes in place but how effective they would be if someone wanted to break into my computer I have no real idea. I simply hope that I am somewhat protected against most threats. Hi Again @trader_jack, I dont think that you should be sticking with Office 2007 as this will expose you to security issues which I dont think is an ideal scenario for you. So I thinkj that you need to upgrade to something, and to me there looks to be 3 options:- Full Office 365 - this would cost you ~£80 a year which makes it a very expensive option. I also dont see you making any use of the cloud features and the frequent functionality updates would probably just confuse you. I dont think this is a goer myself. Office Home & Student 2016. This is a one time purchase and not a subscription service like Office 365. From what I can see online includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote 2016 only. So no Outlook you would have to stick to the Outlook 2007 that you already have. This is a cheap option at around £25-£30 and from what I’ve read you should get 5 years worth of security updates (till October 2025). Also it will run on Windows 7, 8 or older editions of Windows 10 which 2019 (see below) will not. You should also check that the hardware requirements are met, I dont know what PC spec you have so I cant do that. You are still going to have to download and install it which should be pretty straightforward TBH , see this video:- This solution would give you a relatively up to date Office fully supported with security updates for 5 years for a reasonable price. I think its probably the best option for you. Office 2019 Home & Student. Again a one time purchase of something like £120 by the look of it and not a subscription. Same set of programs but slightly more modern versions than with 2016 from what Ive read. Requires a more up to date version of Windows 10 than 2016, which just might be an issue for you ?. I dont know what operating system you are using ATM but if its not Windows 10 then you would need to upgrade. A much bigger job. Again you would also need to check that the hardware requirements are met. Going with this would give you a more modern set of programs and longer security support but for quite a lot more money. On the face of it it doesnt seem worth it to me. Anyway those seem to me to be your main options to me. There are MANY MANY other variants of Office 2019 that you could buy but with the same sort of issues and I have omitted all except 2019 Home & Student because they look much more expensive to me. See link below:- [link] Hope thats useful summary ands that I havent omitted anything. Whatever option you go with dont forget to do some googling to get the best price, thats always a prerequisite when buying these things. Make sure you are buying from a reputable company but it doesnt have to be Microsoft, from whom all you will get is expensive list prices. ATB Pref
Brexit Wars 3 john.a.reeves: SBHUA - hi expand/collapse Sir_Buns-Up_Knealing: So you are saying that the dotard Brexit voters were intent on removing freedoms from Remainers? No … call it ‘collateral damage’ m8 JAR Man shoots himself in the head. A passer by finds him lying dying on the floor and asks him what happened? "The injured man says “Its OK its just collateral damage.†If this Brexit farce carries on and the execrable Patel gets her way in two years time we’ll be hearing stories like this: “I don’t know, its so unfair. Our Johnny went to University and got two degrees in Industrial engineering but he can’t get a job anywhere. Every position is being taken by Indians and other foreigners because of the Government’s “Brightest and best†immigration policy. They say that these people are better educated and harder working than our own. British jobs should be for British people. This is not what I voted Leave and Tory for.†That’s irony. IMHO, SBK

Brexit Wars 3 john.a.reeves: Give me one good reason that the rights which we pro EU citizens have enjoyed for 47 years should be stripped from us Democracy JAR So you are saying that the dotard Brexit voters were intent on removing freedoms from Remainers? I thought the whole thing about Brexit was to increase freedom for the British? But of course the entire garbage Brexit project is built on lies by liars such as this one by a drunk (still gone AWOL), IMHO, SBK
LLOYDS is going to FLY skiking37: If this spreads into the likes of the UK or Germany then we will have issues. Markets will plummet. Hi skiking37 God forbid this spreads to the U.K. What would poor Prefinvestor do if he found himself unable take his constittutional to the local hostelry as he likes to do? Best regards TJ
Brexit Wars 3 Eadwig: So you were wrong, even using the figures from the august publication, and by that I mean it comes out in August. It is big of you to admit it. Not that you could do anything else given the figures from the IMF and the World bank. You do make me laugh though, scratching around with forecast predictions in a desperate attempt to try and prove you’re not an idiot. Good luck with your UK coal mine, by the way. What has August got to do with anything. Why don’t you actually read the link, you can actually select the country or region and a timescale to view GDP growth for 2019. Even economic illiterates like you should be able to manage that. Amuses me that you think the EU is growing faster than the UK. Even a child can see that is not the case now.
Brexit Wars 3 pete - petethenovice: JARS response to this … It’s an ironic response to your linking this problem to ‘Tory Brexit UK’. People might even start to take you a little bit seriously (long odds though m8 with your track record), if you posted things that aren’t strictly knee-jerk reactions to Brexit. JAR PS I know you might struggle with a 6 letter word like ironic. To help you the definition is: language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.
Brexit Wars 3 HuwJarse: The fact is @Eadwig that you lot are so desperate to prove your false narrative that the UK economy would collapse because of Brexit that you have to go scratching around for growth figures from 2 years ago. The fact is the latest figures available from the world bank and the IMF show you are wrong. HuwJarse: It grew at the same pace as the wider EU So you were wrong, even using the figures from the august publication, and by that I mean it comes out in August. It is big of you to admit it. Not that you could do anything else given the figures from the IMF and the World bank. You do make me laugh though, scratching around with forecast predictions in a desperate attempt to try and prove you’re not an idiot. Good luck with your UK coal mine, by the way.

Homelessness charities and waste industry officials are calling for action to prevent “terrible fatalitiesâ€, after incidents in which vulnerable people sleeping in waste containers have died after being accidentally tipped into bin lorries. At least seven people are known to have been killed in the last five years, according to the Health and Safety executive, and waste industry bosses have warned rising destitution in the UK is putting more lives at risk.
