Re: Roller It left a gap at about 2200. I sold my holding a few weeks ago; just waiting for it to be closed to get back in. Although what do I know - TA is mumbo jumbo!
Roller Funny old roller coaster this .............
Re: Big deals Something's brewing in the background for sure . Massive volume today on no news.
Re: Big deals is this stake building for a bid? a very tasty morsel for a bigger fishmm
Big deals Plenty of big deals going through today, one over £3million.
Re: Powering ahead Ah that almost extinct attribute Common Sense. Not much of it about nowadays where you need a procedures manual for even the most basic job and health and safety and compliance are number one and two in any decision making.
Re: Powering ahead Why can't other companies be as well run as XP?One consideration, ( and about life in general) is there needs to be a mix of intelligence and common sense in roughly equal measures. The intelligence sees the (technological) opportunities and develops the ideas. The common sense makes things practical and puts into place. As the saying goes, there is nothing common about common sense.PE
Powering ahead For me this is a share that just keeps on giving. Bought in 8 years ago at 147p and stuck with it through all the highs and lows and glad I did. The dividend alone is worth nearly 50% of the price per share I bought in at. A really well run company which has looked after its shareholders and has perfected the art of good media communication. Why can't every company be as well run as XP?
Re: Oooops Warren " I feel sick"Acrophobia perhaps - yet another new all-time closing high yesterday.
Oooops Look at that chart !!! Ooooooooooooppss. . . . I feel sick
Re: Trading statement PIE-EATER "Don't use drips cos are disproportionately expensive"I agree. I like Scrip dividends but my broker does not allow clients to opt for scrip without also opting for DRIP.XPP is currently my best performing share. Wish now I had bought more. When I purchased in September they were 1.15% by cost now 1.61% by value. CG AER rise of 88.96% and good dividends on top of that.
Re: Trading statement Sorry, forgot to say that it's also a good way of slightly rebalancing as it reduces the need to trim successful holdings - just top up ones that have got slightly left behind (this is however more relevant to perhaps asset allocation via ITs but I use it with my portion of AIM holdings in particular for BPR)
Re: Trading statement Yes would agree, an excellent trading statement. The good thing is that good performance is likely to continue long in to the future for fundamental reasons mentioned in my 14th January post, notably an excellent return on capital employed. If Terry Smith invested in smaller companies he would invest in this one.
Re: Trading statement Don't use drips cos are disproportionately expensive........I collect divis from all holdings and then select where to put a slightly larger amount every 2-3 months using the regular investment facility (purely for one month only)....this can easily be done via Halifax or many other discount brokers. AJ Bell certainly allow it for they SIPP and I'm guessing also in their ISA.Just a thoughtPE
Re: Trading statement At this SP I can't afford the DRIPs on the interims. Purely personal reasons Warren.
