Re: Revenues Jump Onwards and upwards. Divi increase a nice surprise too. Tb - holding XPP long and strong.
Revenues Jump Great news on the revenues and a raise to the dividend to 18p. Ahead of expectations for full year now.
Appointment of new CFO Interesting appointment, I particularly noted his M&A experience. Seems a bit harsh on the incumbent, removed from the board and now holds a senior finance position. Looks like it reflects that the board recognise that they are moving into a new phase with this appointment.
Article by Phil Oakley on XPP I am pleased that Phil Oakley a well respected analyst now working for Ionic, likes XPP and in fact owns shares in them..[link] on XPP on page 3 of above pdf.Since I bought XPP nearly a year ago SP has gone up 53.12% (56.14% AER). Forecast yield 2.9% current 2.73%. Total return about 56% pa. One of my better investments.Recent SP weakness makes XPP a strong buy IMO.
Re: Half year results I should imagine that the volume of sales by the Executives would be likely to reduce the price, its a way of having cash now to spend as they do not keep issuing vast numbers of new shares like some companies. Also a way of supplying pension fund etc with extra shares, keeping the show on the road.
Re: Half year results Congrats EssexAndy on the long hold. Same thing has happened to me with FXPO which I'd almost written off.Presumably today's results have come as a surprise to the directors who sold out at £24 a few weeks ago. A quick calc shows they've 'lost' out on just shy of £1.5M between them. Ouch. Mind you they are still holding significant volumes. Just wonder what prompted them to sell as a group.Glad I'm not the only one who mis-times sells.Strong hold for me.
NEW ARTICLE: A popular small-cap winner set for double-digit gains "A popular pick among stockmarket gurus over recent months, LSE:XPP:XP Power has repaid the faith with another better-than-expected results performance.Record order intake and revenues for the six months to 30 June were assisted by the weakness in ..."[link]
Re: Half year results billy punter, "It also has a respectable yield."According to SharePad Forecast yield is 6.8%I was gratified today to see good results and resultant over 6% rise in SP. Tryed to remember why I bought so looked up my Excel file record of trade:I bought on 20 Sep 2016 at 1698.65 and made comment: "popped out of data mining for high yield, well covered, low debt, profitable with overall good total return".I would also have done additional research to pick it out of a handful of companies. I remember I was flush with cash in my ISA at the time following buy out of ARM Holdings (one of my largest holdings at the time) by Softbank and was keen to invest in UK tech companies. Also purchased some Micro Focus shares but they have not done so well and reduced my holding in MCRO on 19 May 2017.
Re: Half year results It also has a respectable yield.
Re: Half year results Yes EssexAndy, this is the type of company you can hold for the long term as it has a solid business and I get the impression that, depite the overseas expansion, it is quite conservatively run. I wouldn't expect nasty surprises, although it is of course likely to suffer in the event of a global economic downturn.
Half year results Another stonking set of figures from XP. This has been a long term hold for me as I bought in at 147p!! Glad I held on through the price drop of a few years ago. Onwards and upwards (hopefully)
Nice one Sold out last week after holding these for just over a year for a nice little profit.I'm expectiing these to mark time for some while now.
sales the directors have a history of selling though i cant remember so many at once
Re: Roller Today's news story explains yesterday's SP fall. Directors selling 3.1% of issued shares. They still hold a lot so perhaps not a bad sign. SP will I think recover over the next few weeks. Good to lean they are not planning to sell more.
Re: Roller What's going on closing SP 5.3% down on yesterday's yet not XD and could find no news. I reckon the two very big trades one at 15:22 for 207,500 shares and one at 15:24 for 235,000 both trades at £24.00 seem contrived. My guess is SP will recover tomorrow so might be worth placing a limit order to buy at 2425 and seeing what happens.
