XP-Power sinking a bit XPP has pleased me for some time, but it dropped like a stone around 30 July, with the half year results and following news item: [link] As you will see, the initial reaction was +2.66% but the Market has taken a different view. The Glassman purchase might not be meeting expectations; but I know nothing.
XP-Power sinking a bit sorry Kapita not Capita, senior moment
XP-Power sinking a bit Price has taken a tumble in the last couple of weeks, was wondering if the Trump shenanigans in America/China tariffs has anything to do with it? Capita
Glassman acquisition [link] like a very good fit. RIP Mr Glassman.
NEW ARTICLE: XP Power shares: They're electrifying! "LSE:XPP:XP sold more power converters by value in 2017 than it did the previous year across every segment of its business, and business is still booming. Re: Good trading update Top sliced a few as they have more than doubled but still Powering ahead.
Re: Good trading update Everyone and their favourite auntie are jumping on board!
Re: Good trading update Agreed MrMeerkat excellent update. XPP based on capital gain AER is currently my best performing share. Wish it was my largest share holding but is in top third. I would rate as a strong buy rather than hold. Broker consensus is Buy. More upside to come IMO.
Good trading update XPP is my largest holding so it's good to see such a positive - and clear - trading update this morning. The 7% increase in dividend is welcomeMM
Re: Results Agreed, great results, looks set fair for this year.
Results Great results I think largely overlooked on this down day. Not much volume but I think it will rise over the next week.
tax credit StockMarketWire | Mon, 12th February 2018 - 07:26Power control component maker XP Power said new US tax policy was expected to generate a non-cash tax credit in 2017 of around £5.2m.The credit was as a result of the reduction in the federal tax rate from 35% to 21% and would be excluded from adjusted earnings. The company also said it had received notice that claims relating to the Development and Expansion Incentive in Singapore had been accepted by the city state's inland revenue authority, resulting in a £1.3m refund of corporate tax paid in 2015 and 2016.'We will continue to work through the full impact of these changes but expect the company's future effective adjusted tax rate to be in the range 15-17% depending on regional mix of profits,' XP Power said.
Re: Fall overdone IMO Shorts still at zero so a big opportunity has been missed for them from early mid Jan. Shame. If I had some spare funds I'd be topping up too but for now content to ride this paper rollercoaster.2018 has so far mullered my PF by about 8% but it gained 22% in 2017 so no need to panic just yet.
Fall overdone IMO I have placed a limit order to top up my holding at 3078. I regard today's global fall in equity markets a buying opportunity. A fall in SP of about 6.5% seems overdone to me though prior to mid-January this year SP had risen sharply. Now about 22% down on 15 Jan 2018 closing high of £37.40.
