Re: Huge sell today Prothena surged a month ago ... I reckon this sell off reaction is overdone by 5% so a good price at which to top up. It is a risk though.

Re: Huge sell today Neil Woodford’s Woodford Patient Capital Trust dropped on news of a major setback for Nasdaq-listed drug developer Prothena, its third-biggest portfolio investment.Prothena said it was scrapping all development of its lead drug after two pivotal trials failed, which sent its shares plummeting more than 60 per cent in US pre-market trading. “This is the worst case scenario for this program unfortunately for Prothena at this time,” said Jefferies.

I reckon , in the next week or so we will hear that one or two of Woodfords bets have come off .I dont think this move from low 70 to nearly 85 is just a few punters deciding to buy. There is some information there that insiders know about. Watch and listen.Me? Just by chance I topped up at 75, never imagining that this would happen so quickly

From 72 to 83 Why? Cant seem to work this one out. A few weeks ago this was down to 72.For some reason I decided to average down and bought in at 75. Now its up to 83 and the NAV is better but not that much.I am involved in all the Woodford trusts. I knew this one was risky but the other two were sold as steady investments. They arent!Now this is coming alive. Why?

Re: Why the jump? IMHO the reason is two-fold. Firstly, the big jump from Prothena which is what added 2% to the NAV. Perhaps more importantly, I think that the recent large discount to NAV has been driven by the rumours surrounding Oxford Nanopore. With the recent round of funding, even at a slightly lower price level than book value, those rumours can be put to bed for a while and the discount can stabilise at a more sensible 6-8% lev
