Rise in Share Price Good rise in share price on the back of their interest in AirItalia short and medium haul routes.
New Luton Slots Good to see Wizz successful with some slots from Monarch. See they are increasing their planes from six to eight operating out of Luton. All good in these uncertain times.
Half year reporting Well that has certainly caught me out. Figures look good but I can only imagine that the rise in expenses is higher than expected. Cannot be the details on Brexit and the UK can it?
Wizz Air Numbers Passenger numbers up, load numbers up great news and time to top up.
Re: UK Air Operator Certificate The normal timescale is 6 months although there are ways to speed this up. In the case of Wizz l would think they would be happy with this unless they intend to launch a U.K. Subsidiary?
UK Air Operator Certificate Interesting to see that Wizz have applied for an Air Operator Certificate. Does anyone have any idea how long this application is likely to take?
Re: Monarch You are right on the collapse but their Med passengers numbers were high just they could not make them pay. I agree that Wizz would love the slots, anyway good luck yourself with your investments, let's hope that they all 'Wizz'
Re: Monarch Actually Monarchs collapse is as much to do with the rapidly falling demand in going to it's destinations such as Egypt, Northern Med, etc, which is why they were trying to restructure and start long haul to NYC, etc. so the Monarch destinations are those that people in the UK are NOT looking to go to whereas I can imagine a lot of Eastern Europeans would love to be able to fly out of Gatwick to Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, etc. Anyway I hope it is a good opportunity for Wizz in one way or another...Good luck with your investments OH
Re: Monarch Obviously I realise slots can go to different locations but Monarch would have flown to destinations because there was demand for that route from the UK and competitors will look first to secure that demand for themselves. There will also be an equal and opposite demand from the destination airport with that demand needing to be filled at their end. Destination airports will be wanting to keep the same level of work there end so it is an easy arrangement to continue with another airline as a direct replacement.
Re: Monarch Why are you assuming any slots must be used for the same destination? It is the take off and landing slots/ times that are up for grabs, nothing to do with where the destination is....One company can pick up a landing slot at Gatwick and it makes no difference where the flight originated from. Similarly a plane can take off and make it's way to a completely different destination...that's how the system works at least.
Re: Monarch I can see Wizz picking up staff but I would have thought the likes of Ryanair, EasyJet and Jet2 would be first in line for the slots as they fly to Monarch's destinations more than Wizz with its focus on Eastern Europe. However I agree with you that landing slots are up for grabs AGiNY. Th
Monarch The demise of Monarch will free up take off and landing spots at many UK Airports, plus a few European, for Wizz to bid for so the expansion could be faster still.....
Load numbers Good increase of the load numbers, can see the share price continue to rise.
Re: Sale of shares Indigo Cashing in, Indigo still have substantial Convertible Shares @ 44.8m and 24.2m Convertible Notes so they still have a significant interest.Plus some institution bought 10% at 2320I expect a hangover and then a full recover
Sale of shares Indigo With the holdings indigo have is this not likely to have a long term depressing of the share price. Any ideas?
