Re: New Car - sales fgures The new pension freedoms should have at least some impact on car sales even if Vertu dont have a Lamborghini dealership !!

Re: Why the decline? Imvho the sp has been jogging along in it's current range for some time whilst the company has been growing steadily. At some point, exactly when I wouldn't know, the market will realise the sp has been left behind. New car registrations have been growing steadily and the lower fuel prices at the pump can only help to feed the demand. Vertu is taking advantage of this as well as keeping its aquisitive policy moving ahead. Regards, TP

Re: Why the decline? Excuse my ignorance but what would trigger a rerating? Nothing spectacular seems on the horizon.

Re: Why the decline? I'm not in VTU at the moment but was a holder. I was lucky to get in at 30odd p a couple of years ago. But since the rise to the 50/60 range the sp has not done a great deal (hence my exit)I too think this is a great company with it's progressive, acquisitive policy. There's undoubtably a rerating due and I wonder if this is being walked down by the MMs to get people in before then.Timing re-entry for me is the key. Must free up some funds before the party starts.Good luck, TP

Why the decline? Is there any particular reason the Vertu share price has declined from 60p to its current value? Have I missed something?

info Vertu Motors (VTU) also announced a trading update. The vehicle retailer reported that results for the year to February would be in line with expectations for record revenues and profits. Driving the numbers were total vehicle sales volumes up by 14.3% and like-for-like used vehicle volumes up by 6.4%. Vertu added that the key March trading period - when registration plates change - could be a record month for total UK new vehicle registrations, with its own like-for-like vehicle order book currently running ahead of the prior year. Despite the positive update Vertu shares fell by 4.75p to 56.25p. Broker Liberum has a 110p target.UK A N A L Y S T

Re: New Car - sales fgures The figures were encouraging, apart from the retail sales numbers which were disappointing in a rising market. I have worked with (not for) Vertu and I believe it is one of the strongest, best managed groups in the automotive sector, and is destined to achieve great things. I am particularly impressed by the high intelligence and experience of Robert Forrester and his highly pragmatic approach to developing his business. He is supported by a strong Board, a proven Chairman and an excellent team. I like his approach to customer relations. I am building a substantial share holding, and, when funds allow, I'll buy some more.
