By replying “not directly†is he implying that they have indirectly by perhaps supplying graphene to a battery manufacturer that in turn supplies Samsung?

RNS Friday China Update & Clarification Versarien Confirms CEO Twitter Comment On Chinese Proposal (Alliance News) - Versarien PLC on Friday confirmed that a Twitter post made by Chief Executive … (Alliance News) - Versarien PLC on Friday confirmed that a Twitter post made by Chief Executive Officer Neill Ricketts was accurate and the company did receive and reject a proposal from a Chinese investor seeking a 30% interest in the company. In April, Versarien announced the signing of a term sheet with Beijing Institute of Graphene Technology Co Ltd for a planning cooperation to develop Versarien’s graphene related business in China. The term sheet would see the Chinese graphene company provide funding to Versarien for the planned subsidiary via an equity investment, with BIGT obtaining an up to 15% holding in Versarien. On Thursday, Ricketts made a Twitter post reading: “For bigt the limit was always 15%, however we did have another Chinese investor who wanted up to the max 29.9%â€. Commenting on this, Versarien said: “The company can confirm it previously received a proposal from an investor that cited interest to subscribe for shares up to that amount, but this was rejected and the board determined that the terms with BIGT provided the best opportunity.†Versarien also confirmed it is still in talks with BIGT and the subsidiary has now been incorporated as Beijing Versarien Technology Co Ltd, with a business licence granted by Chinese authorities. Shares in Versarien were up 1.4% at 120.68 pence on Friday morning. RNS Friday China Update & Clarification ToT Yes putting Neill and his tweeting to one side, todays RNS certainly underlines a significant move forward on the Chinese investment structure. Hopefully looking good for completion prior to the AGM too! eyeson
RNS Friday China Update & Clarification Part of the RNS was clearly down to shorters contacting the Nomad about NR’s tweets, which is regrettable and I agree that he should be more cautious in his use of social media but that should in no way detract from the significance of obtaining this license. That clears the way for the announcement of BIGT’s investment and the massive scale up that will flow from that. I am therefore very surprised that the SP reaction has been so muted. Tot
RNS Friday China Update & Clarification He’ll end up 6ft under with undue stress unless he calms down. I still don’t think all this engaging via Twitter is a good thing and having to quote Twitter in a RNS looks bad IMO. Mind you if Donald Trump can sack people via Twitter… etc etc

RNS Friday China Update & Clarification From all the goings on on Twitter it’s good that neill has clarified the China syndrome ! TP
RNS Friday China Update & Clarification RNS Number : 5325I Versarien PLC 09 August 2019 Versarien plc (“Versarien†or the “Companyâ€) China Update and Clarification Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is pleased to provide an update and clarification on its plans for expansion into China. On 15 April 2019, the Company announced that it had signed a term sheet with the Beijing Institute of Graphene Technology Co. Ltd (“BIGTâ€) covering the proposed cooperation between the parties to develop Versarien’s graphene related business in China. The term sheet envisaged that BIGT would provide funding to Versarien for the proposed wholly owned subsidiary (“WFOEâ€) and other corporate purposes in the form of an equity investment, providing BIGT with a holding of up to 15% of the issued share capital of the Company, whilst giving existing and prospective private and institutional shareholders the opportunity to participate on the same terms. The Company can confirm that discussions between BIGT and the Company remain ongoing and that the WFOE has now been successfully incorporated as the Beijing Versarien Technology Company Limited and the business licence has been granted by the relevant Chinese authorities. This will enable the Directors to progress the funding discussions with BIGT. We look forward to updating shareholders regarding developments as appropriate. The Company has previously stated that any deal has to be in the best interests of it and its shareholders and consequently the Company has been working with several parties to secure the most appropriate deal in China. With regards to a reference made by Neill Ricketts, CEO of the Company, on 8 August 2019, on Twitter, that the Company had another Chinese investor who was interested in up to 29.9% of the Company, the Company can confirm it previously received a proposal from an investor that cited interest to subscribe for shares up to that amount, but this was rejected and the Board determined that the terms with BIGT provided the best opportunity.
PM Boris Manchester speech Saturday frog_in_a_tree: Sadly, Mr Carpet hasn’t got sufficient grey matter to understand the difference between statistical analysis and wishing people dead, as he puts it. Frog It is worth factoring in the possible increase in the death rates amongst the elderly which could come with a Johnson No Deal Brexit due to: A shortage/delay in the supply of critical medicines. Food shortages and price hikes. Fuel shortages and price hikes. (the heat or eat syndrome). Especially hard hit would be those people in rural areas who depend on oil fired heating. With the pound crashing even further petrol and diesel prices would go through the roof. I also wouldn’t blame the French, if in response to the Johnson Government’s belligerent and insulting behaviour they cut off the electricity supplies across the Channel. An upsurge in house breaking and muggings would likely occur with the old and vulnerable being the most targeted group. Nor will it be safe to go out, especially to supermarkets, because of the riots. Is it all worth it? IMHO, SBK

Frog But of course he’s having a yarn. His protestations are fake. Typical of Brexit supporters, they have no positive arguments to back their cause so they just attack the messengers of truth. IMHO, SBK

PM Boris Manchester speech Saturday GreyCarpet: It’s disgraceful to allow posts that promote the death of members family and friends. Nobody is “promoting†the deaths of anyone. They just happen by themselves. IMHO, SBK
