Returns VP has Achieved a 25% per annum compound increase in share price since I invested 8 years ago . It looks set to continue .
Re: Finals We are big fans and have a big holding. The only thing holding us back from going further is liquidity in the stock.
Finals So, another good set of results with no sign of any slowdown going forward.Well run company, reasonable yield, solid growth ... what's not to like ?If I didn't already have a decent holding here I'd probably be adding, but, as per last time, I'll just continue to hold what I've got.
Re: VP My thoughts too. I suspect it's due to Lavendon takeover at 14x earnings for a lower quality company (lower returns and more gearing )
VP Very nice recent climb here in the sp - is something afoot? We are big believers.
Re: VP Yea, decent set of Interims.I'm in no rush to add to my holding, but am happy enough to hold what I've got.
Re: VP Core holding too. We now receive divis 15% per annum and growing ( on cost ). I like the fact that they're trying to diversify into other counties to reduce U.K. risk - I suspect we will see more as the opportunities overseas must be rather large ... if we don't get bought out ! - the whole sector seems to be in play
VP Solid results again in a sector some of which is difficult at present. A core holding for us.
Results H1 results out early next week - will be interesting to see how they are performing in the current market

Re: vp Yes the longer they remain in trouble the less they will be investing in equiptment thereby further weakening their future business . All plays into our hands over the longer term .Presenting at next Equity Develpment meeting 28 Sept - worth attending IMHO
vp Although there is trouble with hss and speedy vp will still do well. It is much better managed.
Market Do you think they will be badly affected by a recession in UK ?I know some businesses are in regulated markets so are relatively insulated but the two main profit earners aren't especially niche. The rating at @10x forecast is pretty cheap reflecting concerns about the sectors prospects in general . Main listed competitors seem to have self imposed problems which has spiller over onto VPs valuation. Trust the management to continue to deliver although overseas strategy more difficult with the devalued pound .Views welcome - quite lonely here !
VP A great share this one.
"It is still clearly too early to predict the full repercussions of the vote to leave the EU. The events of the past couple of days have been seismic enough with the resignation of the Prime Minister, the prospect of another Scottish independence referendum and the disintegration of the Shadow Cabinet. There is no timetable for Brexit and there is speculation that a compromise deal may be sought or even that the Scottish Parliament could veto the whole thing. None of this is likely to be resolved quickly and there is a threat ..." Singer note out this morning on affect of brexit vote on VP from research tree
