Communications +40% rise today on an immaterial update. Crazy market. I was expecting a big announcement after that open, but there’s actually no announcement. A relief rally for sure. Its bit like your child disappearing for a week, then calling to tell you they’re ok. Nothing new to report; just letting you know they are still alive - just.
open offer/rights issue Have a look at today’s news R94, and, although it doesn’t give any firm news it does emphasise that the board are at least trying to make progress. People seem to have given this a fair degree of credence. TP
open offer/rights issue VLS… XXXX This has been looking desperate lately closed @ 3.7p Friday Opened 20% up continuing to + 56 % mid afternoon … Maybe it is a better idea to buy into the days risers … lol Still a long way off when i last looked in March .
Communications Finally a communication! Maybe I should have complained earlier… Anyway, there are no major news items to the contrary: ENVIA - they keep talking Bayou Fuels project: working “extremely†hard…but nothing to report UK waste to jet fuel project: solid progress…whatever that is About the diminished cash burn: they burned through £4.4M () in 3.5 months which is a monthly burn rate of £1.26M. () Per July 31: £8.7M cash at hand + £5.6M from the £6M raise.
+17% this morning Thanks, Dave, must’ve missed that on my initial daily RNS scan. Nothing concrete but they are clearly progressing on several fronts. TP
+17% this morning They issued an RNS this morning… "Statement Regarding Share Price Movement Velocys plc (VLS.L), the renewable fuels company, notes the recent share price movement and we would like to update the investors of the following ongoing positive actions your Company is currently undertaking: The Company continues to drive forward and make strong progress with its Bayou Fuels biorefinery project in Mississippi. Discussions are progressing with a shortlist of strategic investors to invest in the project to fund the development costs to financial investment decision (FID). The team are working extremely hard to ensure a positive outcome to this process and we will update the market once agreements are in place. Velocys continues to work with the ENVIA Board, which is developing several promising options to preserve the value inherent in the facility. In addition, constructive conversations are continuing with the insurers, where ENVIA anticipates a resolution in the near future. Recent media analysis continues to highlight the growing global demand for the high quality renewable fuels that we can make, and in particular there is increasing demand from airlines and existing jet fuel producers. We are very pleased to have British Airways and Shell as partners in our UK waste to jet fuel project and we continue to make solid progress in taking this exciting project forward. As of the end of September, the Company had cash resources in excess of £10 million. As a result of the decision by the ENVIA Board to suspend operations, the Company has substantially reduced its monthly cash burn rate by circa £0.5 million and our projects remain on budget. The Board is confident in the future of the Company and we look forward to updating the market with news on numerous fronts over the coming weeks and months."
+17% this morning Shame it’s from such a low base. Any news? TP
Communications the are reacting by selling their stock…and theres noone catching the falling knife. I do hope the on-borading of new investor will happen soon. We need some good news. My SL is getting awfully close.
Communications It is about time that the shareholders react to the lack of communications. Velocys has issued only 1 SpeedRead this year, while the frequency is 4 per year. The ENVIA events were kept under wraps for a long time. In July the company took a good initiative to organize a conference call, but since then there was no follow up.
Timing? must be time for a fresh new placing! Easy money
VLS competition JM are building a battery plant in order to enter a new market for them; matthey.com Johnson Matthey to build battery materials demonstration plant in Clitheroe, UK... Johnson Matthey announces that it is building a demonstration scale plant in Clitheroe, UK to manufacture next generation battery materials to power electric vehicles. and they have long been manufacturers of catalytic converters amongst other things. The company was built using its own technology rather than licencing it to others.
VLS competition not necessarily. I don’t see JM as developers; they are technology providers and always have been based on my own research. I didn’t realize how big they actually are. This is what VLS should have stuck to - technology development. I see the JM technology as ahead of its time and the market wasn’t ready - ie, nobody in the market to license it. Maybe VLS should use the JM/BP tech! Agree, that we should focus on Mississippi. Get that right first, then conquer the world.
VLS competition You guys are a bit negative! If the BP/JM technology was so impressive they would have funded a commercial plant themselves or formed a joint venture earlier. Instead, they demolished their demonstrator and did nothing visible for 9 years! Maybe Fulcrum switched to them because BP/JM offered it at a very low cost or provided some finance. Obviously, it would have given the SP a boost if VLS had been selected but as you have previously pointed out VLS need to focus on the projects they have rather than try to do too much too soon.
VLS competition BP/JM-Davy had about 5 years to penetrate the market since the oil prices were between $80 and $110/bbl from mid 2009 until mid 2014. Since then it was indeed an uphill battle and that is also why they are zooming in on lower cost feedstock. Obviously, they were able to push Emerging Fuels Technologies out of the project, probably based on experience and capital cost. I am afraid that the Velocys technology is not competitive based on the ENVIA experience and the capital cost.
