For all you LKH seekers [link] Now if that comes up with a 5 year ULVR vs RB. chart I’ll be much happier @ValueSeeker8 and you will receive a blue tick of approval (or whatever the current equivalent is. Regards, ITDYA

For all you LKH seekers @In_the_dark_yet_again, The safest way to include a URL in a post is to use the Insert HyperLink Command, which is indicated by the red arrow below: Clicking on that would open will open the following dialogue box: As an example I filled the first field with the URL for Money AM website, and gave a title as shown below: After clicking the button, I get this : Money AM. If you must copy and paste a URL into a new line put it between bracket () or quotes “”.

For all you LKH seekers I was just reading through the rest of the ULVR posts (still not sure I haven’t missed stuff as this new ‘improved’ discussion platform strikes me as a huge step backwards from the old simple but effective one) and came across this post… I tried posting (to LSE:GENL) yesterday and went to include a link simply by copying the URL from the top box of one tab and pasting it into my post and bamm… flashed it up then disappeared off into a blank page. Couldn’t seem to get out of it apart from click the ‘back’ button a couple of times and hit reload. Nothing had been posted but I had a draft it wouldn’t let me delete and when I tried to get at it… bamm, off to the blank screen. Took ages to get around it; would have abandoned it but it wouldn’t let me get rid of the draft and couldn’t post anything else until I did. In the end I clicked the mouse, Esc, space and anything else I could hit as quickly as I could and on about the 3rd try I managed to get in and remove the link. Is this the same problem you are talking about in your post? If so, have you found anything more reliable than me randomly(?) hitting the keyboard as fast as possible in an attempt to corrupt the link URL so it doesn’t disappear off into the blank wilderness? Your comments suggest you’re not quite as random as me but trying to achieve the same thing. And have you found any alternative way of including a link? I know, nothing to do with ULVR but I’m really struggling with this new platform but can’t find any other discussion forums with any volume of posts (seems to be dropping here fast) - I do also look on LSE (London South East) but it’s pretty thin and a lot of the comments don’t help me too much (buy buy buy or sell sell sell with no fundamental analysis to back up the opinion isn’t what I’m looking for). Yes, sometimes there was often a lot of dross here on Interactive Investor but also a few nuggets here and there. Regards, ITDYA still trying to get his nickname changed on LSE - you can’t do it yourself and while they say let will do it for you, they don’t. 3 times I’ve asked. When I get my nickname changed to ITDYA I’ll try posting there as well.

For all you LKH seekers In_the_dark_yet_again: then again trackers may need to hold it until it leave (otherwis""e they wouldn’t be tracking) and dump immediately after… “”“then again trackers may need to hold it until it leave (otherwise they wouldn’t be tracking) and dump immediately after”""" Yes that’s the reason, half the investors ate via tracker funds so I can imagine this is no small quantity – hard to know what the impact might be. For all you LKH seekers @Gamesinvestor1, LSE:ULVR I understood that ULVR could be delisted from the FTSE due to the move but we knew that weeks ago. I seem to remember the SP dropping significantly on that news only to rally back over the next few days. Me, making fairly large assumptions, arrived at the conclusion that either they were going to do it in such a way that it wouldn’t happen or, more likely, that ULVR is global business and the investing world overall (the whole world) couldn’t give two hoots about whether such a business is in the FTSE100 or not: if the big investors like ULVR, they like ULVR and it doesn’t matter where it’s listed. Yes, I accept that some trackers and/EFTs may have to offload but that’s their loss as the rest of the world should happily lap it up. Maybe another example of the UK ‘small man’ syndrome, us thinking we matter much more than we do? Are you saying you do think it would sell of if/when it actually happens? My experience is that the market reacts when the news comes out, it doesn’t wait for the actual event to happen so any negative impact (if any) should already be in the price… unless I’m missing something completely (wouldn’t be the 1st time). Regards, ITDYA, then again trackers may need to hold it until it leave (otherwise they wouldn’t be tracking) and dump immediately after… another reason never to buy into anything that is that ‘automatic’ and predictable.

For all you LKH seekers Tried this but so far no luck - These IT guys have known about this for ages and still haven’t fixed it :- “”""For those of you who have got into this loop there is a sequence you can try, however this is not straightforward and you many need to try this a few times. Click open draft immediately hit space key twice click on left of blue bar at the bottom (this is the minimised compose screen) Using mouse very quickly double or triple click the URL to select it very quickly press the delete key Games

For all you LKH seekers Aggh the dreaded open draft fault has hit me again. Someone kindly posted a work around for this software bug - anyone care to repeat it here for me, as I’m again unable to post anything new as attempting to open the “Open Draft” crashes the system. Games

For all you LKH seekers Frog - nah m8, I guess he has his reasons for the silence and sudden departure, didn’t like to probe, it’s up to him at the end of the day I suppose. Games

For all you LKH seekers Games …have you asked him why he left so suddenly last October? Frog

For all you LKH seekers ITDYA - I’ve been swapping comments with LK over the last few days on Unilever - it’s defo the same guy. The big issue at the moment with ULVR is the potential for it to be delisted from the FTSE. If that happened then the programmed selling from funds would have a significant impact on the share price. The movement of the HQ is a management ego thing with the aim of the cloggies taking full control and having more protection against another bid like the recent one from uncle Warren. If they achieve it, and I believe it’s subject to a vote in September, then the bid premium in ULVR will be factored out as well. Hard to know of course but you could see a significant re-rating on the old soap manufacturer. Games (LR1 on the FT site – keeping you informed on who I am on what site lol! - no cloak and dagger on my part) – Up the cloggies – yeh right up em!! Games

For all you LKH seekers So quiet. I’ve put up a few posts but there replies are rare… and just a passing comment like this one rather than anything with real share/market insight. Then again, me too here. Market seems to be tracking sideways to slightly down, Brexit & US vs RoW trade tensions obviously weighing heavy on the market in general. Me, I have Reckitt as well as ULVR and RB. seems cheap relative to ULVR at the moment looking at historicals but history is in the past and doesn’t tell me much about the future. It’s a sector I want a piece of but don’t know enough about the underlying driving factors. LKH had a view he was prepared to share and, even if I didn’t agree with him, it always made me think. Regards, ITDYA

For all you LKH seekers He’a very active on the FT - just look at the Unilever articles - and no one writes in a similar manner. Games - methinks this board is falling apart!

Google Finance Similar problems reported in the following thread: Alternatives to the iii mess Site Feedback This morning I checked the experimental portfolio that I displayed in post #24. And the problem seems to have been rectified (for the past 3 days or so there was an Error that googlefinance function is unable to recognize LON:CNA). However, this time it is unable to recognise LON:BP or LON:GATC. Here is how it looks now: [image] Ah well, I’ve started using investing.com instead, set up a watchlist and just transfer the figures manually to the local spread sheet! for the real portfolio of stoc… One day it is working fine, another day its not!

Google Finance So I set up a Google Sheets portfolio and it was working well. However I see that Google Finance is now not returning values for Centrica (CNA), BP , Capita (CPI) and Santander (BNC). Don’t know how they can one day return the SP and then next day it’s “N/A”. Of course this means all my totals are “N/A” and my GF portfolio about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Anyone else having the same problem? Anyone know a solution?

For all you LKH seekers @MartinDrew, LKH’s boat was called Vulganus (I’d assumed a satirical name based on how vulgar motor cruisers usually are, an name akin to Warren Buffett renaming the private plane Berkshire Hathaway ‘insisted’ he should have ‘The Indefensible’). I believe the boat was a Fairline with dual Volvo Pentas driving it. As for buying an off-the-shelf discussion platform, well I hadn’t though of that and it would explain why they are struggling to restore the good parts of the old system - buying a package means you give up much of the control. Me, I never used their virtual portfolio, always found it cumbersome. Moneyextra for years (which was great I have to say but no money so it folded) then Google Finance which was rubbish and doesn’t work properly any more (although they may have sorted it since I stopped using it). These days I’m using the London Stock Exchange (not the London South East) Portfolio; plus point you can have multiple portfolios although I tend to include my holdings and my ‘watch list’ in a single portfolio. It’s actually pretty reasonable for what I need. But, as you hint, not one of those sites has ever received a penny in fees/commissions from me so the only possible source of revenue would be any adverts they chucked at me. I have no idea how good a site you could support on that limited revenue; costs would be a serious issue. This new site I’m just about managing with but it is a huge step backwards from the old one: ‘outdated’ they claimed but ‘fit for purpose’ in my eyes. Regards, ITDYA
