Annual financial report for the period to 31 march 2019 “SHARE BUYBACKS UEM’s share price discount narrowed from 14.2% as at 31 March 2018 to 13.6% as at 30 September 2018, and narrowed further to 12.8% as at 31 March 2019, although it remains above levels the Board would wish to see. The Investment Managers have con4nued buying back UEM’s shares for cancella4on with 4.7m shares bought back in the period to 31 March 2019, at an average price of 201.02p. While the Board would like to see the discount narrow even more, any share buy back remains an investment decision. Tradi4onally the Investment Managers have bought back shares if the discount widens to over 10.0%. Since incep4on, the Company has bought back 47.5m ordinary shares totalling £80.9m. The buybacks now represent more than the ini4al capitalisa4on of UEM Bermuda when it came to market in July 2005.â€

Re: Worrying drop today The discount to NAV means the amount the shares held in the trust are worth minus the actual value of the trust fund. I expect you knew that though.What is interesting is that there are a number of warrants due to be exercised (or not) at the end of the month. Any that are not exercised will be sold into the market thereby potentially lowering the price. This may be the reason for the widening discount. However, the effect should only be temporary and the discount should narrow again in a month or two afterwards.

Worrying drop today Worrying, dropped to lowest for this year levels 215p today. That's after knocking on 225p FIVE (yes 5) times this year. Why? I notice discount to NAV (whatever that actually means) has jumped to 14%. Holding for now but I will add some more if it gets to 210p.
