If you sell after the ex-dividend date, you might think you would make more money. Many sellers imagine they will get the dividend plus full price for the share In practice, the share actually drops in price by the amount of the dividend once the ex-dividend date passes. If you sell the share at that time, you do get your dividend, but you get less for the share because the dividend is subtracted from the share price.
Can somebody tell me. If i sell today and bought back in tomorrow - do i loose the dividend or is it worked out if you are holding shares on a particular date? Excuse my ignorance
