Re: Open offer In other similar situations I have tried to see it as a new investment without my historical baggage - would i buy shares in this company at xx pence. Right now with TRP I find it hard to be that detached.
Re: Open offer Clearly a complete waste of time for the vast majority of, if not all, PIs
Re: Open offer Completely agree with today's sentiment though I'm surprised (pleasantly) that the sp hasn't dropped to the offer price (2.25p) !! (That's what usually happens)Makes you wonder whether there's more in the tank yet.TP
Re: Open offer if I give the company some more of my money and average down it will have a very minor impact from my perspective. My average is 168p, and no that's not a typo. I have written this off, lesson learnt ( or perhaps not) cutting my average down to anywhere near the SP would take more than I am willing to give for running costs. I'll wait until they find something and then make a move or they go under completely and I haven't lost anymore funds than currently.
Re: Open offer Hmm, not sure I really want to chuck any more into this tbh, TP.A 21.9% discount for a 25% increase in shares. What's not to like? Si.
Open offer 2.25pAny one up or it ???TP
Africa Oil Summit Cape Town This summit is being held in Cape Town during the first week of November. Nigel Quintin of TRP is giving a talk on the first day concerning building a portfolio in Africa. It's £3995 to attend and there's no concession for partial attendance. It's £3995 or tough whatsit!! Why would TRP spend the money and will anyone bother listening? After all the SP is about 3p and don't forget this is after the 1:250 spilt plus their disastrous times in various areas of Africa. I'm going but not attending as I wouldn't spend that to listen to a load of hot air for five days. Using it to meet known knowns etc. You never know I might run into Nigel!!
Re: Placing and open offer That's exactly why I'm waiting for the CA, Ken. Why bother to speculate ?Good luck, TPPs not making my mind up on the offer till I know more about the terms, result of egm, etc, etc.
Re: Placing and open offer I hate to criticize my own post, but on re-reading the RNS I realised that it stated that the Open Offer was to be made to ALL shareholders. It did not specify just to existing shareholders.the time an EGM has been arranged, the total shareholding will be 75.8 million. It would be nice to think that this was just carelessly worded by the BoD, and that they really intended the £0.56m Open Offer to be a reward exclusively for the long suffering existing shareholders. However, the new 47million new shares will presumably have voting rights at the EGM, and could vote this down if they were not included in the deal.In that case 24.8m new shares allocated to the owners of 75.8m shares, would result in all shareholders being offered about 1 new share at 2.25p for every 3 shares owned.
Re: Placing and open offer "I'm waiting for a "corporate action" on iii, to tell me my entitlement". TP Firstly there will be no corporate action re your entitlements until an EGM has voted to approve this.Secondly if my maths is correct you can predict roughly what this will cost you, and how many new shares you will be offered. To raise £560,000 by selling shares at 2.25p would result in issuing 24.888m new shares. Existing shareholders were holding about 27 million shares. So the company would need to offer something like 9 new shares for every 10 existing priced at 2.25p. Effectively this will cost you just over 2p for every share you currently own.I suspect that the chance to over subscribe for anyone who is interested will be huge. You can have mine for starters!
Re: Placing and open offer Words fail me
Re: Placing and open offer PI's get screwed as usual......Why raise £1.03m by placing 46,500,000 shares at 2.25p and watch the share price just tank down to that price when you could raise £1.03m by placing 19,000,000 at the (previously) existing price of 5.50p. The end result is the same but everyone's financial holding didn't just half instantly.Open offer at a discount to the average share price of 5.50p my ****S.
Re: Placing and open offer I'm waiting for a "corporate action" on iii, to tell me my entitlement.TP
Re: Placing and open offer Have the terms actually been published anywhere? It seems like the bulk of the new shares will go to a small cadre of investors with a few pickings left over for PIs. Probably completely pointless for PIs - can't see much point in maybe doubling a holding to make it worth, say, £25, even if the new shares are at a discount.
Re: Placing and open offer Or you could use the loss here to offset your capitals gains on Sound (which is what I intend to do) !!!
