Re: reminder Just to compare TRK's progress on flywheel energy storage with the competition's, I trawled the Ricardo website for news but the latest I could find was 5th July 2015.New test environment will enable high-speed flywheels to be engineered for safety:[link] priorities appear to be electric and fuel cell vehicles.

reminder Copied and pasted from a report in April. At the Future Powertrain Conference organised last month by Imperial College's Energy Futures Lab, the Company's subsidiary, Flybrid, presented a range of energy storage systems using its high-speed flywheel technology. The flywheel-based systems can address a wide range of applications using hydraulic, mechanical and electrically connected options. With energy storage from 380kJ to more than 3,000kJ and power from 210kW to more than 1000kW, the systems can address a range of applications: -- Off-highway machines including excavators, wheel loaders, fork lift trucks, port handing and mining equipment; -- On-highway vehicles including bus and trucks; and -- Power generation for applications such as electric drilling. The Company is already engaged with a range of global off-highway OEMs interested in trialling the Group's production-ready, hydraulically-connected, energy recovery products for use in excavators, wheel loaders and larger mining vehicles. The power generation market is an ideal application for the Group's high-speed flywheel technology enabling significant fuel and other cost savings from load levelling, engine downsizing and downspeeding. Since the conference, Flybrid has experienced further significant interest from several global power generation OEMs to evaluate the Group's technology.

Re: Hmmm!! JCB During all this talk of gloom and doom, has any body considered if the JCB and parallel project with one of Cats offshoots are still ongoing. Last I heard was that the JCB side was production ready and being tested in on-site vehicles. JCB are not obliged to say anything as they are a private family owned business and you can bet a pound to a pinch of whatever you like that if this is ongoing they will have Torotrak tied up in so many layers of non disclosure that it will take a month to unwrap it.As for the CAT project I cannot in all honesty remember the company name but if they are a stand alone company owned by a division of CAT the above may also apply.Other wise, as someone asked recently, what are they doing all day.

Re: Hmmm!! As an ongoing standalone business Torotrak is dead as a dodo. The sooner it closes or sells any remaining operations the better. The only question is whether there is any residual value for shareholders or not remaining from the sale of physical assets,IP & patents, and transfer of tax loss to parties in the same trade that might qualify to use them.At best I feel we are talking somewhere between nothing to 1p max per share value,as time moves on nothing sadly seems the most likely figure.I bought 250,000 shares recently for a nominal sum on the basis that Peter Gyllenhammer might have seen some hidden value but I think it likely to turn into an even more nominal sum!I am sorry so many have suffered serious loss here.

Re: Hmmm!! Michael Lombardo has not made any allowance for the cost savings from shutting the Leyland operation and the cash from selling the plant. On the other hand, without Leyland, TRK has less capacity for production which also needs factoring in.

Re: E-V Charging Infrastructure I'm looking forward to seeing the Army going to war in Electric Tanks stopping to recharge them at lampposts in Kabul or the likes. Will they be supported by Electric fighter aircraft recharged at flying lampposts?
