Re: What's happening to the price?! I Obviously missed something. This is actually a worry reaction to what seems very positive news.
Re: What's happening to the price?! Right on cue: a trading statement, ahead of the interims, out today; and my impression is yesterday may have been a good time to buy!Sales up 18% - that'll do for me, even if it includes acquisitions. Profits up a bit. I'm never totally happy when turnover increases at a higher rate than profits, but this could be due to timing of orders. Still sitting on a bundle of net cash. H2 will be significantly better than H1; which has to be good. The only negative I found was a comment under Traffic & Data Service - Increasing competition is leading to reduced margins; but as market leaders, it is to be hoped they can hold their position and keep healthy margins. I am never 100% sure how markets will react to trading updates - there is always a positive amongst negatives or vica versa which can throw the price in a direction other than that expected, but I expect this release to send the price at least part way back up.
Re: What's happening to the price?! Hi HardboyThe AIM market is quite lax at making Companies accountable for late announcements of poor results, unlike the main markets, where you are hauled in front of the Market Headmaster to be accountable for profit warnings, and when your first actually knew of them compared to when you announced them.Problem is management's natural inclination is to want to defer the moment of a likely market beating. Some management think so what, if they are not heavily invested in the Company, but I always got the impression that Tracsis management were proud of their management competence.Interim results are not audited so are really glorified extension of monthly management accounts, except they probably get triple checked if they are close to expectations.I am slightly worried that because of a flat full year position that they may be struggling a bit, although wasn't the us Software sale meant to contribute to the upside for this period? I hope so.
Re: What's happening to the price?! Muzletoff, I was wondering the same thing. In strong markets it's positively in free fall. It does seem a long time since we heard any news, and not so long ago there was always news about a new contract win. Have they stopped issuing RNSs for contract wins, or have they stopped winning contracts? Of course there has been no bad news either, and as you say if anything price sensitive had developed they would have to inform the market, so it is to be hoped it is just a bit of mischief from the market makers. The last release (the finals) left us with this comment, which I guess is upbeat. "The result of the acquisitions made during the period, combined with good progress on new software development, has led to the Tracsis offering being significantly enhanced in terms of breadth and depth."
What's happening to the price?! It seems to me that either market makers are trying to shake some stock out by scaring private insurers by dropping the price, or there is a bit of unloading going on.My worry is that we are due interim results by March latest, and sometimes when the first drafts of an RNS go to the NOMAD for review, there is always the risk of news leakage and someone takes advantage.Technically if there is a decent fall in share price the Company should respond by stating whether there is any reason for the price drop in their view.I hope we are not going to get our first profit warning.
Decent sized trades.. ..gone through today. A couple amounted to a £1m's worth of purchases.
Re: Has anyone heard.. March . Another train crash in the US all puts pressure on the authorities to improve safety .
Re: Bit of a snoozefest here Hi HardboyTracsis price seems on a trend of a slow downward shareprice drift on very small volumes.Yes. Nothing much else to say.The CEO seems to have gone into purdah newswise, which is disappointing.I guess we are now in a Close period as Interims are due to be finalised for Jan '17 (and accounts released in March).
Re: Bit of a snoozefest here I'm still here, but have nothing relevant to say.
Bit of a snoozefest here Happy New Year. Not heard from anyone for a while. Anything occurring? Price seems on slight drift down...
Has anyone heard.. .. any news from the CEO following the full year report? Normally there is a period when they troop around the City etc. doing presentations to brokers. Previously John McArthur has been quite marketing orientated and also does interviews etc with trade magazines etc. But I have heard nothing so far. Has anyone heard or read anything?
Re: Nice results I agree totally. For such a large holding to be sold must mean that some large investor has great faith in the stock.
Institution selling down I note there was an RNS holding update the other day, and an institution had reduced its stake.Quite tricky to sell down in an illiquid market, unless you have a large buyer willing to take up the stake. If true this may push down prices for a while.
Finals The turnover of the core high margin Framework business was acknowledged as dropping in this year, and has no particular predictability, so I think they are using its cash generative characteristics to diversify the business with acquisitions to make up for any reliance on what was their original core business.Sensible strategy, and the most recent acquisition Ontrac seems to be hitting its profit targets, so should in a full year add circa £2m to the profit bottom line. However, whether that make Tracsis a 'growth' business is perhaps slightly more questionable.
Re: Finals Share based payments look a bit toppy too!
