Re: research for new investors Yes Divmad,I believe total revenues for the 100MW award would be worth $100m-$150m. They will get revenues from gas sales and 50% electricity sales as you stated. However, that is the tip of the iceberg. Once they have got access to the SAPP, (Southern African Power Pool), which they will get with any power award, then they have almost unlimited sales potential to the wider region. Southern Africa has a massive electricty deficit. Also, the British Government have just funded a Botswana LNG project (prefeasibility) to enable the production of LNG for disconnected regions. Tlou have the only gas in the region. Also there is Orapa power station, built for dual fuel, diesel and gas (90MW) but only ever used on very expensive imported diesel. Linah Mohohlo NED of Tlou is also a NED of Debswana, owner of Orapa.
Re: research for new investors Are you saying that on successful implementation of the 100MW power plant, TLOU could receive up to $150mn p.a. in gross revenues for their upstream gas alone? And then receive their share (how much, 50%?) of the power plant electricity generation revenues with IPC?What other gas revenue sources from other power plants might TLOU secure after permissions are granted?
research for new investors the story so far and what is to comecompiled by GrantTlou Energy (TOU) are a natural gas/coal bed methane (CBM) company based in Botswana, and 100% owners of the most advanced gas project (Lesedi) in the country. This gives them 1st mover advantage.TOU are 1 of only 2 companies that were offered to tender for a 100 megawatt CBM gas to power government project. According to CEO Anthony Gilby, theyre expecting the award to be announced in Dec/Jan. The company has met all targets to date so far & is generally very conservative in their forecasts. As currently understood, the second party participating in the tender has no gas reserves nor do they have the EIS (Environmental Impact Study) in place. This puts TLOU in pole position and years ahead of its only competitor, Sekaname.TOU are the only company in the country with a mining licence, which is actually a pre-requisite to sell gas commercially. The project will provide them with a way to get their gas to market + all important revenue estimated at up to $150mil/year.TOU have a binding heads of agreement with UK based firm, Independent Power Corporation (IPC), to jointly develop the (up to 100MW) CBM gas to power project and will maintain 100% ownership of the upstream, including their gas fields & gas supply. As part of entering into the agreement, IPC has received letters of interest for in‐principle funding support for the power and infrastructure requirements of the project. IPC will contribute to costs of the project under the agreement.Botswana has a stable democratic government and ranks as one of the best credit risks of all African countries. It has the lowest African corruption ranking (including South Africa). Botswana is ranked 35 out of 176 countries worldwide, with 1 being the best and 176 the worst (for comparison, DRC is ranked 156, South Africa is ranked 64, Australia 13, China 79). [link] country has an excellent economy with growth almost double of Australias at 6-7% of GDP. They have 5 huge diamond mines (4 of them are 50% owned by government, the other 50% is owned by Debswana/De Beers) and produce 25% of the worlds diamonds. It boasts the worlds largest diamond mine, Orapa, which is so big it actually has its own 100 bed hospital + pre-primary & primary schools for employees of the mine. It also boasts the worlds richest diamond mine, Jwaneng. Botswana also has large beef & tourism industries.70% of Botswanas electricity is imported from South Africa and 80% of domestic production is concentrated in one coal fired plant (Morupule). Morupule power station has been plagued by problems for years due to design issues and isnt running anywhere near full capacity. Most of Botswanas power stations are powered by imported diesel, which is extremely expensive. But they were designed to also run on natural gas, so it will be easy for TOU to gain additional ways of selling their gas and also supply their gas at a premium price.Botswana relies on expensive imported power and diesel generation to deliver its requirements. This is compounded by continued and still unsuccessful remedial work taking place at Botswanas Morupule A and B coal fired power stations. Botswana and Southern Africa have massive power shortfalls that are expected to worsen over coming years.....so there is huge demand for power. Botswanas energy demand is set to increase 37% to 1,017MW by 2025. Based on 2015 data, there will be a shortfall of 5,994MW of energy in Southern Africa aloneTOU have leases totaling 8300km2 and significant independently certified gas reserves of 261 billion cubic feet (3P) and maintain 100% ownership of the whole lot. They also have 3.2 trillion cubic feet of certified 3C gas resources.250km of 2D seismic survey is currently underway, which will increase their reserves substantially. Re: RNS seismic survey update HighlightsØ Seismic survey nearing completion with excellent quality data received to dateØ Core-hole drilling has commenced following assessment of seismic dataØ Seismic and core-hole data aimed at increasing Gas Reserves, Contingent Resources and assisting with initial project development Tlou's Managing Director Tony Gilby said, "The seismic survey is progressing very well and the analysis of the data to date has provided sufficient information for the commencement of core-hole drilling at the Lesedi CBM project. The information from the seismic program along with the core-hole data will be key to the expansion of the Company's existing Gas Reserves and Contingent Resources, which through provision of increased confidence in the project could add significantly to the inherent value of the Company's assets and provide vital data for the commencement of development activities in 2018."ch

Re: Another good start to the day I AM an early bird, having had a small flutter at the formation of the company. Really hard to know whether to buy more now, even though it will seem a 'no-brainer' back under 8p. It's achingly slow, and all dependent on that tender, but if accepted, then 25p by the end of next year (having doubled overnight) would be reasonable, as I don't believe there's much engineering risk with this team. The 10-year horizon on mining investments comes up mid-2019. Trouble is that what seemed a gradual investment has turned into a binary trade. I'd be interested to listen to any reasoned forecasts.
Another good start to the day 10% increase in the SP by 90am.Early days yet but I can see this being an exciting ride over the next year. I would like to see it come faster, as we all would, but reality says this will take some time for everything to be in place which would include the contract for the power station and then bringing it to fruition.Good luck to TLOU and to the early bird investors!

Four of the licences are Prospecting Licences and one has now been converted to a Mining Licence. The Mining Licence area is currently the focal point for the Company's operations and includes the Selemo pilot project where the Company has been producing gas for over 12 months. The status of the Lesedi area licences is as follows:LicenceExpiryStatusMining LicenceAugust 2042CurrentPL 001/2004March 2019CurrentPL 003/2004March 2019CurrentPL 035/2000September 2018CurrentPL 037/2000September 2018Current Mining Licence In August 2017, Tlou was granted its Mining Licence by Botswana's Department of Mines in the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security ("the Ministry". This milestone achievement gives the Company security of tenure over the Lesedi project area and progresses Tlou's activities from CBM exploration and appraisal to development. In Botswana, holders of Prospecting Licences ("PL" are issued Mining Licences once exploration on a relevant PL has been concluded and the holder of the PL is ready to commence commercial production. Mining licences are assessed in accordance with the prescribed statutory requirements of the Botswana Mines and Minerals Act. Two major components of a Mining Licence application are an approved Environmental Impact Statement (granted for the Lesedi Project in September 2016) and a feasibility study for the relevant project. Key terms and information included in the Mining Licence are:· The Mining Licence has been issued in terms of Section 41 of the Mines and Minerals Act of Botswana;· The licence grants the holder the right to produce CBM natural gas in the approved Mining Licence area for a term of 25 years commencing on 21 August 2017 and ending on 20 August 2042;· The Mining Licence was granted in full across the area applied for, which was previously known as Prospecting Licence PL002/2004;· The licence area is approximately 900Km2;· An annual licence fee is payable to the office of the Director of Mines of approximately USD$9,000;· Project development can commence at any time with no minimum spend stipulated;· Royalties are payable to the Government of Botswana in accordance with Section 66 of the Mines and Minerals Act. Royalties are currently payable at a rate of 3% of gross market value. Gross market value is defined as the sale value receivable at the mine gate in an arm's length transaction without discounts, commissions or deductions for the mineral or mineral product on disposal. Proposal for a CBM Power Project submitted to Government of Botswana Early in 2017, the Company received a detailed Request for Proposal ("RFP" from the Ministry for the development of up to 100MW of CBM fuelled pilot power plants in Botswana.
