expansion I really like this company. I like their vision for the future and the fact that they are actively pushing forward with new plans to expand and their work ethos including development and innovation. It makes a change from the doom and gloom I get with some of my investments!
Planning permission granted for new UK site [link]
6 month Trading update All looks very positive. The weaker $ is more than compensated for by the US tax cuts; and they seem fairly confident about the future
TET TREATT recovery on the way. ...... TET Treatt....Stock Idea. Expansion plans both here and in the US. Trades on a forward P/E of 21 to 2019. Longer term investment but the chart shows its nicely moving up of a base. [link]
Re: What happened in early 2017? HI DP,Maybe a bit of dogged perseverence reading the posts on this board will provide you with what you are looking for. Sales revenue increasing quickly, profits growing quickly, raised some cash to partially fund big capital investment to produce more in USA and produce more efficiently from a new site in the UK, and have just started to spend it.
Re: What happened in early 2017? Not obviously it isnt.Pepsi NED bought some shares?Trading report said they were consolidating to one site?Is that it??
Re: What happened in early 2017? I suggest you view post on this board from mid Feb 2017. It's all there.
What happened in early 2017? Been looking on behalf of my 90-year-old mum, who has shares from when she worked there. Why the huge leap in 2017?It looks like some sort of 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 share swap, but I can see no reference from the time.Unless it was the ousting of the Chairmans son from being MD after his foolish sabbatical? Curious as to what happened there too as current employees would not tell her at the time.
NEW ARTICLE: Why Treatt shares are a beautiful thing "Two things bothered me after I profiled LSE:TET:Treatt just before its AGM. The first was profitability. Evidently, profitability has improved, but I think shareholders could be in for a rough time over the next few years as the company invests ..."[link]
Re: Share price now below price for recent c... Ex dividend today, markets tumble, and Treatt manages a modest rise. That's nice; and good to see Black Rock raising their stake.
Share price now below price for recent capital raise Just to say that at present the share price languishes below the level at which Treat raised cash for late last year. PE ratio now in the low 20's. Big capital spend ahead, with risk attached. Good reward if they get it right!SM
NEW ARTICLE: Don't write off big-spending Treatt "Keeping staff happy trumps return on capitalFriday 26th January is LSE:TET:Treatt's Annual General meeting. Because of the warmth with which shareholders are received and the sharp citrus smell of its distillery, it's one of my favourite AGM's. ..."[link]
Re: Citrus crop update On Wednesday, orange-juice futures in New York capped the 15th straight decline, the longest slump in figures that started in February 1967. U.S. consumption has tumbled by almost half in the past decade, government data show. Hurricane damage and disease that slashed Floridas citrus crop failed to bolster prices.[link]
Re: Analysis by Phil Oakley of TET Hardboy,Phil has made some interesting analyses of companies, it is his job! But I think he used DOM as an example of a perfect company, the rationale of the analysis was perfectly correct, but the sp failed to respond (I hold DOM and DPP). I think his analysis of TET is also intellectually valid and if it made widgets would be correct. But, like you point out, harvest yearly so need to hold stocks but I would disagree with you about 1yr or 6 months. If it can make a profit on just one year supply, presumably TET know if someone else is buying big time and it might hurt profits? but why not hold more, the supply is stored, limited and most important is known. The demand is not especially price sensitive. What then if there is a failure of crop in one year say a frost then a good idea to have a bit extra but what if something destroys the whole tree, virus, storm, salt water flooding, even a supervolcano. As I understand it citrus trees take years to reach cropping. Orange essence may be like gold in more than just colour.I topped up big time when Hugo thew the toys out of his pram, now my biggest holding, and the reason I did not top slice at 520p was the potential of the new facility (aka shed by a fellow "sailor"Regards,SeadocBack in Blighty for Christmas and Mrs Seadoc's big bash
Re: Citrus crop update The update is interesting, not sure I know enough to translate this into production terms. I assume this is not as bad as was expetected.
