Re: Schroders LK:"one should have no problem with any active fund manager getting filthy rich provided that, after costs, his fund does better than Muggins could do if he picked his own stocks."Absolutely right, but so few fund managers actually beat their base index. A few years ago I decided Latin America might be a good place to stick some money (before Donald Trump decided to kill Mexico's economy, and before Brazilian Presidents became so obviously corrupt.) I compared all the funds I could find; and the best performing one was an ETF! All the active managed funds were failing to match a fixed investment!(So I invested in the ETF & lost money as the oil price crashed & Brazil's politics descended into farce. But I would have lost as much with a managed fund.)

Re: Schroders Hardboy,"Fund Management along with much of the rest of the Financial Services sector is largely designed to make the people in the sector money, rather than the clients."Indeed! "Where are the customers' yachts?" as Fred Schwed once asked. That said, one should have no problem with any active fund manager getting filthy rich provided that, after costs, his fund does better than Muggins could do if he picked his own stocks.Treatt's up a bit.LKH at the LK Wash & Valet

Re: Schroders Don't you just love investing in a managed fund and paying the fund manager a huge salary for him to find the right investments, only to find he is taking your money and putting it in another fund which pays one of his mates a huge salary?Fund Management along with much of the rest of the Financial Services sector is largely designed to make the people in the sector money, rather than the clients.

Schroders I have just noticed that the top holding for Schroder UK Dynamic Smaller Companies has changed. It was Fevertree/Treatt. Its now SCHRODER STERLING LIQUIDITY PLUS I ACC an investment into bonds and Dankse bank.

Re: Share Price Yep looks like volumes are back to usual illiquid - wonder where all the liquid shares went? iii are 'experiencing difficulties' with their site and RNS/news update apparently.I prefer this more placid volume Treatt.Good weekend all.

Re: Share Price "Ok its 9.42 and Treatt sp is still showing as 17.46 last night as last trade, so non this morning on most sites I can see? The London Stock exchange site is stating no information available for todays trading. Odd?CL"As far as I can tell from the Trades tab and google finance the first trade in TET was at 9:34am today so with the usual ii lag that would be why no change shown. Seems to be back to normal volumes today after the recent gorgefest.

Re: Volatility The SP has performed pretty much the same over last two days, big drop with some recovery later in the day. Volume not as large today but there is still some pretty big movements by Treatt standards going on, however the volume is not as large as previous sessions. Difficult to work out if this is 'the markets' or just good old profit taking, but that would be unusual considering as you say Treatts long term holders - too good to miss the profit? Its new territory for Treatt usually pretty solid and predictable. Not wild.

Volatility Until recently Treatt has never been a very volatile share; and I was sure I'd never see the day when (without any news) the price plunges 10% then rises 5%, ending the day a bit like the Grand old Duke of York's Men, half way up or half way down. Market Makers get blamed for a lot of things - & I confess I do not fully understand their black art; but could they be dropping the price to flush out some stop losses? The volume is still up on pre-interim averages

Re: Schroders 11 May Below 5% "So this fund is the source of the shares Schroders sold "But who bought them?

Windsor Buffet 16 May 2017

Re: Schroders 11 May Below 5% Just as an update the Schroder Fund that I referred to previously has just produced its April factsheet (as at 28/4) and yes the holding of Treatt had dropped from 3.7% (of £550 million) to 3.2% (of £600 million) which in value terms is a decrease of only just over £1 million over a period in which the TET share price appreciated (according to my records) about 5%. So if this fund is the source of the shares Schroders sold most of the action will have been this month when the share price appreciated to date about 20%.

Re: volume "Two more BIG trades at 265p totalling over 500,000 shares close together at just after 11 am today. That's 1% of Treatt's issued capital. That's not normal trading.""Tut tut LK - 465p, ahem.As you say, not normal trading so something's brewing.

Re: Takeover? LKH,Lord, yes you are correct, as usual. But I do point an index finger at his Lordship, the FT and Gervais Williams.Something will happen but I am sitting tight unless takeover offer or TET gets to 15% of holdings.SeadocMost anyone in my family ever got was an OBE, just had his certificate framed, now on the wall and I am immensely proud of my late old man.
