TRADING UPDATE? : Is there going to be another trading up date in April? Last year it was on the 19th.
Good results with a very positive outlook for the future Good results with a very positive outlook for the future as quote by the CEO Andrew lindsay
Looking forward to the results 20th Nov Looking forward to the results on 20th Nov as Telecom Plus has strengthen its position in the energy market as the price cap looms round the corner, this will give them a very competitive edge. In the network of distributors in Telecom Plus growth is now happening with good quality customers and services taken increasing.
NEW ARTICLE: Trends and Targets for 30/05/2018 " TELECOM PLUS (LSE:TEP) As with many shares currently, there's something a bit funny going on with this lots share price. Perhaps news relating to Carphone Warehouse is tending add depression or perhaps it's simply the monsoon rain forcing ..."[link]
GIVE TELECOM PLUS THEIR DUE...….Smith you are comparing Apples with Grapes. Like comparing Aldi and Lidl with Waitrose and Whole Foods. Also in the latest Trading update it is reported that the number of new partners joining each month has been running consistently at 600-800 throughout the year. To qualify as a Partner one has to sign up 10 new members. If the Partner cannot make much further progress in the business he still has produced new clients. True that competition has intensified but still TEP has strong brand in Market with recent WHICH award for top brand. Perhaps M&A coming soon?
Re: Drop ?? Better ware and Kleeneze have to sell cheap tacky products that you can pick up from anywhere. Online or pound shops - they need to resell over and over.Sales of gas electric etc needs far less repercussion. Yes it's MLM but the products are far different. That was the point I was trying to make.
Re: Drop ?? You missed out also Betterware going into administration in April too.How is the the business model different money4yourpocket.Telecom Plus relies on exactly the same MLM sales model as all the others. It needs a freelance sales force go out and sell the services and it needs to keep finding new people go do it as people drop out after finding it's not for them.I believe in recent years active sales people have declined so in time it may be that Telecom Plus may need to review its sales model as new players to market seem to be getting ahead. They certainly aren't getting their fair share of the Big 6 defectors and the sales growth seems to have tailed off in recent years.
Give Telecom Plus their due.......... Last year lots of MLM consultants lost their businesses when long established MLM company Pampered Chef pulled out of the UK market. Avon are still skirting around business problems with huge losses being the norm there now as they lose sales through a reduction in their MLM workforce. Both Betterware and Kleeneze who were long established MLM companies went into administration in April. So the fact that Telecom Plus continue to hold steady is a credit to them albeit that many companies such as Octopus Energy seem to be steaming ahead using traditional methods of marketing. Long may it continue for all holders of the shares. Its not an easy market at the moment for Energy and Telecoms with so many players in the market.
Peel Hunt says short term somewhat dull Telecom Plus the owner of the Utility Warehouse multi-level marketing business, slumped after house broker Peel Hunt said short-term trading looks somewhat dull. Ahead of a trading update from Telecom Plus due April 19, Peel Hunt cut earnings forecasts to reflect stressful conditions for incumbents and new entrants in the UK energy market.
Drop ?? Could it be a reaction to Kleeneze going into admin?? Shouldn't do as the business model is far different.
Re: Massive drop Very strange considering no new news?
Massive drop Any thoughts?
Re: Going in the right direction All good thanks Jack. Glad I placed some of my cash into India Capital Growth Fund Ltd...... worth taking a look at if you are not in there already. You are probably not far off the mark with your prediction for TEP. Telecom Plus seem to be holding on to its customer base but growth of new business seems to have slowed so it is about chasing new customers to keep pace with churn. Good luck for the year ahead.
Re: Going in the right direction Hi Smith.Hope all well. What's your prediction for 2018?My best guess is a relatively flat year, perhaps with a range of £11-13?Happy to keep taking the divs until there is more news.Cheers.
Re: Going in the right direction Well.... I got to hold my hands up and admit my call of 600p was wrong however when I first threw caution to the wind here over 3 years ago when the price was around 1400p if anyone took any notice it probably saved some heartache when there has been many better places to invest.Since Brexit my view of the public has chanced. If people were daft enough to vote leave Europe then they are certainly daft enough to pay over the odds for their Gas and Electric which Telecom Plus have proven. I hold my hat off to Charles Wigoder and his gang of freelancers to keep flogging the services.
