Fosun JV THOMAS COOK LAUNCHES CHINA JOINT VENTURE WITH FOSUN(ShareCast News) - Thomas Cook has launched a joint venture with Chinese investor Fosun called Thomas Cook China, which will target "affluent, adventurous, quality-oriented" customers as the pair look to grab a high-margin share of China's fast-expanding holiday market. At the launch even in Shanghai the FTSE 250 company and Fosun, which last year bought a 5% stake in the UK tour operator that has since swelled to 8.2%, said the JV will offer 90 holiday packages to more than 40 international and domestic destinations. Fosun, which owns 51% of the venture, predicted China's outbound travel market should grow by as much as 20% a year.Analysts at Berenberg estimated that such a compound annual growth rate in travellers equated to 170m tourists in five years time."The potential offered from Chinese tourism is massive and consequently the JV is something that the market is right to be excited about," they said, though warning there was "no clear outline for the financial outlook for the JV and importantly the investment that may be needed from Thomas Cook, over and above the start-up investment of £750,000".Shares in Thomas Cook were up 6% to 75.95p, their highest point since late May.

Re: 80p next stop. I'll see your 80p, and raise you to 85p. I'm just not prepared to put any money on it as current market sentiment may be about to take another Brexit hit as the politicians get back to work after their summer break, both here and in the EU.

Sir Singh 31 Aug 2016

80p next stop. Does anyone fancy challenging me? With one to two weeks if the markets remain positive as they are.

Positive update It's been a tough year for tour operators trying to provide affordable holidays in Europe's traditional destinations following a growing number of security alerts.Thomas Cook chief executive Peter Fankhauser told the BBC's Emily Unia how travel habits have changed, and said he didn't expect a big impact on business from Brexit.90p target

It didn't fly so I'm out. Enjoy. Closed on CwD A profits a profit. Short on WPP Short £50 per point on Dax and Ftse and massively on Poo. Short on new house builders too.

Sir Singh 24 Aug 2016

72p is a key point. We must fly through it within 2 hours Them 80 and 90

Re: & this why I'm a lot more richer tod... i take it back, a week late admittedly but its defo over 70p.,

Sir Singh 24 Aug 2016

25 positions 22 came good. Or came good over night!!The biggest loss was £4K on the unexpected POO spike just after 3pm. 3000 contracts. What are we playing today as I usually add more and play long and short. Post Brexit period has turned out nothing but spectacular for traders. Locking in some profit and booking a break for next week. I ended up doubling or tripling on many positions. A very risky strategy. Enjoy and win big.
