NEW ARTICLE: Thomas Cook suffers results day horror "Holidaymakers have had plenty of reason to delay booking their summer breaks this year, and LSE:TCG:Thomas Cook has felt the brunt. Terrorist attacks in Tunisia, Turkey and Egypt have already scared off many tourists, and now we hear that ..."[link]
Re: Results not as bad as all that? Fair play...My concern is about some recent big trades which have gone through as `unknown`.I wonder if some of these may have based on inside info.. or suspicions.M`s Green certainly chose her moment to bow out, with markets rattled by various factors, including the Middle East troubles, etc..We need a return to market confidence, with various global issues hovering in the background..
Results not as bad as all that? Very sad that Egypt Air plane disappearing too and this I expect that accounts for some of this mornings fall.Figures are not bad in my mind but obviously there's concern about the second half of this year too. But their balance sheet is in a better state now than previous and so they have the capacity to ride out most storms that might be on the horizon, I believe. If storms are weak then there's plenty of room for this to bounce back. No doubt this can go lower but any position taken now should be for a size that allows you average down without it being uncomfortable.I had a small position in this with average of 90p prior to todays and have doubled it this morning. Also I'm prepared to add 15% more to my holding for every 5p this goes down from 70p.Obviously this is a risky / volatile stock but the risk rewards works fro me here now (for up to an average sized bet only granted )

Re: Fosun International When Fosun originally invested and took a 5% stake, they said that it was their intention to up their stake to 10% buying from the open market. This is therefore not unexpected. I'd expect more buying from them in the coming weeks/months which will most likely have a positive effect on the sp.
Re: Fosun International A near term Fosun takeover is not in the interest of long term shareholders and 1.30 undervalues TCG. The partnership could work very well for both companies in the coming years and Fosun will have their hands full expanding the Chinese business without the distraction of European customers.
Fosun International Today's news they are at 6% now..... ! They could probably table a 130p bid and be successful at the moment....
Egypt hijack An internal Egyptian flight has just been reported as hijacked - diverted towards Cypress. At least one of the hijeckers is believed to be armed.Another sign of lax security on Egyptian flights - bound to have an impact on the tourist industry, at least in the short term. Not sure how much business TCG are doing in Egypt these days, but it is likely the whole sector will be impacted initially (again).
Re: any idea why the recent falls The fall is due to Citgroup broker downgrade. See TUI - similarly affected. Citi are speculating on future industry earnings - not current trading.
Re: any idea why the recent falls Don't know if your registered with TCG but I am getting very regular emails and the prices quoted for holidays are really cheap, there cannot be much profit if any in there. Same is happening with many cruise agents, with all inclusive packages becoming the norm. Younger folk and families just haven't got the money, the industry will suffer even more if interest rates go up, and when oil rises that will further damage the industry. Can't see TCG making a decent return any time soon.
any idea why the recent falls as the market rises TC has been going the wrong way, not been 92p even then market was at 5700 a few weeks back..... any thoughts, info ??
Re: Back to profit..... You are getting the wrath of Orchard !!!!!DavidT
Re: Am I worried? ...No "very positive and I agree 100% with you, wait till Orchard see's this post"Saw the post and laughed then and had another chuckle again today. Down 35% in less than 8 months. I do think it was right to be cautious about the "insider bull" message, which has proved such a poor call.
Re: Back to profit..... The shares tanked well before the Egypt bomb or Paris so please don't (once again) use tragedies as an excuse when you get a share call wrong. We all do - just some people are willing to admit and error and you, clearly, aren't one of them.
