Re: Reason for share fall ? <<The company said it was aware of the SFOs announcement but could not comment on an ongoing investigation *unrelated* to TalkTalk>> (asterisks mine)What cobb1ers! How on earth can they call it unrelated? Firstly Scouler is their commercial director for heavens sake! (Has he been up to his old tricks here too?)Secondly It begs the question; what sort of people they are happy to have on their board? Ever since the hacking debacle and the !diot way they dealt with it, I have a very dim view of this board, especially Dumb0 Dido. Not only that, but as an IT consultant, TalkTalk features disproportionately large, in my clients problems with internet and customer service, hence calling me in to sort it.This company needs taking out and merging with a more intelligent operation.I do not hold TalkTalk but have been watching from the side-lines, being interested in all ISPs and telecoms.
Reason for share fall ? John Scouler, the former commercial Tesco director for food, has been charged with one count of fraud by abuse of position and one count of false accountimg.Scouler joined internet provider TalkTalk as commercial director in February last year but is understood to be on sabbatical. The company said it was aware of the SFOs announcement but could not comment on an ongoing investigation unrelated to TalkTalkSooner this lot taken over the better and all directors go

Re: Takeover? Not for a very long time, all M&A activity in the City in the doldrums!
Takeover? I get the feeling something's going on - Talktalk is the ideal takeover target for Vodafone and a whole host of other mobile operators looking to get into broadband. Maybe Sky could also be interested?

Questor to rat the shares at ‘sellÂ’. From Digitallook: Thursday newspaper share tips: Disconnecting from TalkTalkEdward Swift | Sharecast | 14 Jan, 2016 11:13 - Updated: 128 The TalkTalk hacking combined with a price war against its rivals has led The Telegraphs Questor to rat the shares at sell. The column noted in the last six months, shares have halved and believes the worst is yet to come as the company looks weak.It said the telco grew when it separated from Carphone Warehouse in 2010 as competitors BT and Sky didnt think it was a threat. With faster and cheaper broadcast, TV available across a myriad of devices, and the slow death of the landline, customers now want everything but for cheaper than ever before. However Questor said the company isnt well positioned in all those areas. It lacks the scale to dominate on price and doesnt have the infrastructure base to control access. It also noted a big risk around its TV offering.Despite the company giving away set-top boxes, the number of people joining the service has slowed and there has been a small increase in the number of people cancelling. In an environment that was already proving difficult, the cyber attack could have been the tipping point for customers who are already wavering on their choice of provider. With the company financing dividends through debt, Questor highlighted that net debt is expected to surge from £90m to £680m by the end of March, which is why prospective dividends dont look good.
