Re: As someone posted in the past - coal likely to be a staple as an import.Anyone wanting to do the most efficient job is likely to want to unload and load from the same point to avoid wasted tonnage capability but I think.import is the primary purpose. The area needs more port capacity no matter what.Current slowdown is probably going to be over done as manic depressive markets begin to act as if the world is ending.Yesterday we were all going to be multi-millionaires and now tomorrow it's the poor house for everyon

Rupee has devalued by 10% (against sterling) over the last 3 months also putting pressure on the price. Combined with the drop in global trade volumes and record lows for shipping costs means that it looks like a perfect storm in this space currently. It would be good to understand if this has an impact on the feasibility / potential profitability for the project. Will the port be used mainly for imports into India (ie a play on the burgeoning middle-class Indian consumer) or for exports (cheap textiles, raw materials and goods headed to the West). Hopefully the former as this appears more sustainable in the long-run given that India will likely see the wage inflation experienced by China and Western companies focussing more on near-shoring making an export driven boom unsustainable.

Re: PR Drop may be down to the Baltic Dry Index figures that look weak due to China. Taking the sector down. A nuisance. If anything there should be a drive to more efficient working to claw back some margin in shipping/docking/distribution and that could work in the favour of Skil. They need to get that sort of message across.

Re: PR I totally agree.Let's not forget that the guys who are building it are very experienced in that market and have done it before. The project was costed conservatively 5 years ago and shares were sold at £2.50 for a reason.Of course there have been delays and when that happend investors get annoyed and dump the stock as they can invest more profitable elsewhere even if they take a loss.I think on a medium term basis this is a good opportunity. Logistics in Asia, especially Mumbai is a very desirable thing to be invested in.Todays's drop of 4.5% should be a buying opportunity.sp today: 36p

PR If work starts ok it's one of those times that PR would help draw a line under the past.New start, attract some new money.

Seagull2 18 Aug 2015

Should be news this Week that work has recommenced and hopefully, things should gather some momentum in run up to Christmas. I would hope will be back up around 70p per share come Christmas. Good news this week would get the ball rolling imhoSeagull

Re: hard to be impressed risks and opportunityrisk of developing a port in India are clear - the initial shareholders have taken a beating on this - bad luck for them.I have bought in at 37p and consider the risk/opportunity to be in my favour - it will either go bust or will be a 5 bagger in next few years. I am not in a rush and if I had any level of confidence in the management I would buy more at this level and probably a fair bit higher.I believe the company needs to provide some more detailed information for shareholders to be able to make decisions. What were the 'local difficulties'? does not seem an unreasonable question. On the question of securing commitments from ship owners and their customers to use the port facility. This is fanciful at this time - hopefully they are keeping the potential users 'warm' enough to be receptive when there is some visibility on the port becoming operational. Odds of 5 to 1 are about right on the available information and track record. Don't be surprised if there is a cost overrun on the project (after all this is India) and there is further cash required to complete.....Good luck to all holders

Re: hard to be impressed It is curious that people buy into this and expect it to be just like a northern european development then complain when it isn't.They expect a multiple SP increase but no more risk than in the developed markets.

Re: hard to be impressed Look this is India we are dealing with here. If it was UK port development fair enough

Seagull2 29 Jul 2015

Great news at last ! Think this is great news. At last we have been updated and told when they hope to start generating revenue. I have increased my stake this afternoon so, hope we see a strong rise in share price over next 9 months as the 1st phase of the project nears completion. I expect they won't sign any contracts re customers until they are 100% confident re the port is able to process goods.Fingers crossed we are on an upward trajectory now towards the £2.50 float price. Don't forget that there are big institutional investors on board with this project also. Good luck holdersSeagull

hard to be impressed this is a worry - still no idea what the local issues were or how they were resolved. Bottom line is that no progress made for 3 months and they are pleased that what little work had been done didn't get washed away in the monsoon. Almost comical - I will keep holding until the first ship unloads...suspect this will be 2017!
