My experience has been more positive. Long term holder of residue shares after merger over ten years ago , and slightly surprised that holding was worth anything. Over past years been impressed by capital returned to share holders and bought in modestly at 4p earlier in year. I think strategy of using tax losses is sound and hope for small gains over next few years , but due to small numbers of shares involved not sure if I will take up offer

Decided to Do Nothing,,,,, Will be putting all the bumf into the Blue Paper Recycling bin......Here's why :-SPARK is an AIM company, and along with others on AIM, it had high hopes, but historically SPARK has been a dog of a company - a leopard may change its spots - but can a Dalmatian ? SPARK was ticking along going nowhere but was recently introduced to Gresham House to do a deal, Why ? Also note that Gresham House performance has not been that impressive over the recent past and this is a new venture for GHE. The new SPARK investment objectives are also nothing new, similar to before but will the injection of new cash really change things ? After the Placing & Consolidation the new SPARK will have assets under management of around £38M - but £17M of this is in one company, IMIMobile.A Placing along with Consolidation has typically resulted in a drop in share price of AIM companies. SPARK will no longer be a penny share, instead the marketability at a nominal £9 per share changes investors attitudes significantly and there is a longer way to fall. The new high value share could attract the Shorters and become very volatile.Bearing in mind I have already lost money here, in summary my take is to avoid SPK for the moment, until proved otherwise. After consolidation it could well be possible to pick up SPK new shares at less than the £9 per share being asked for today. If you have some spare cash there are bigger and better investment companies to put your money into....OK, all the above is IMHO and should not be taken as investment advice - please DYOR. Would I love to be proved wrong ?

Re: Which envelope for what? alioua - your 5000 shares entitle you to buy 4 Open Offer New Shares @ £9 therefore you will need to pay £36 to Capita Asset Services to take up this entitlement. (based on 1 New Share per 1200 shares held - no fractions allowed). After consolidation at 1:200, your 5000 existing holding shares will become 25 New Shares.(nominal value of £9 giving around £225 - similar to current value of £218 quoted) Therefore your options are :1) Do nothing - your 5000 shares will be consolidated and you will have 25 New Shares in Spark2) Pay £36 to Capita to take up the entitlement of 4 New Shares which will be added to your consolidated holding so you end up with 29 New Shares.3) Decide to apply for a number of Excess Application facility additional Open Offer New Shares as well as the 4 you are entitled to, at a cost of £9 per additional New Share. (e.g. to round up to end up with a total holding of 50 New Shares apply for another 21 New Shares on top of your 4 entitlement at £9 per New Share - pay £225 to Capita and end up with double your existing investment - if your excess application is met).Agreed you and me are small shareholders and may have little to gain - but our old shares will lapse and be consolidated and nothing will be paid - (you end up with 25 New Shares of similar value as of today)..DYOR - but at the moment it looks like I will either do nothing or just make a very small outlay to take up only my Open Offer New Shares entitlement .....

Re: Which envelope for what? Hello San and co- can you please clarify if it is worth participating- i have 5000 spk shares valued currently at £218- if do participate, i will be entitled to 4.17 shares- so i am not sure what is one gaining with such a small number of shares- what will happen if i dont take the offer? The shares will lapse and what do i get paid?with thanks

Sometimes feel I am missing a bit of the jigsaw. Most of report indicates good news , suggesting price pre-consolidation should be more than 5p. 5p achieved during speculation after annual report. Positive relationship established with Gresham House, offer 10% discount market prices share at 12.5% discount , why has apparent good news got such a poor reception?

Re: Which envelope for what? You are correct, crowsfoot. The form of proxy goes in the PXS 1 envelope and the application form for the Open Offer to Qualifying Shareholders goes in the envelope addressed to CAG 1 at the Capita Asset Services office in Beckenham BR3 4TU.The other alternative is to put everything in the paper recycling bin outside your door.My holding of 3184 shares which cost about £2K soon after the IPO give me an entitlement to purchase all of 2 New Shares @ £9 each - big deal.....Are you taking up the offer to pay £9 for each New Share ?Today's last deal was at 4.33p - multiply by 200 gives £8.66 equivalent price per New Share after consolidation ?

crowsfoot 23 Jul 2015

Which envelope for what? I've probably missed this in all of the package information but am I right in assuming that the pxs addressed envelope is for the return of the form of proxy for the AGM, which presumably means that the CAG 1 is for the return of the Open Offer form or am I wrong?

Re: Consolidation.... I am not saying it will happen, but in theory the shares should then be worth 200 times their current value.

CF 23 Jul 2015

I will also be squeezed by consolidation , also very small number of shares I can apply for in rights issue probably mean it wont be viable, that said long term strategy looks positive.

San Jaime 23 Jul 2015

Consolidation.... Among all the recent RNS bumf & information concerning the Fund Raising and Capital injection etc. I noticed a one line statement that means almost the end for my initial investment of around £2k made here back in May 2000. "SPARK will also consolidate its share capital on a 1:200 basis."Following consolidation I will end up with just 15 of the new shares......AIM investors SHAFTED once again ?SJ.

CF 22 Jul 2015

Um did not see Todays RNS giving details of fundraising , which explains fall in share price
