Re: Low Sky Offer True about the cost per match - but there are more matches - so if they won the remaining packages they could pay an aggregate increase. The takeaway is that the market was worried that they would lose a load of matches or they would have to pay an increase of 20 to 30%. So a sign that the era of rampant cost inflation is over.

Re: Low Sky Offer Sky has chosen to pay £1,193 million per annum under the terms of the new deal, down £199 million per annum, a 16% cost reduction per game versus the current agreement.

Re: Low Sky Offer There is - the voting mechanism once regulatory clearance comes through.Looking like things are coming into place with the Fox concessions on governance and the TV football rights coming in at a modest increase.I would hope that the independent directors are talking to the large institutional investors on an improved price. The fact we are trading over the bid price implies so.

Re: 12 p dividend It was 10p and it was paid on 9th Feb. Check fundamentals tab to confirm.

lovelove 13 Feb 2018

12 p dividend what happened to the dividend we were getting should the bid not complete before the end of 2017?

Mr Shortie 13 Feb 2018

Low Sky Offer The bid for Sky is too low and there should be a means by us shareholders of rejecting the bid.

Re: Potential counterbid "have always thought the bid by Sky was on the low side"What bid by Sky? Do you mean bid for Sky? Or bid by Fox Corp?

Self made hedge operator 05 Feb 2018

Potential counterbid On CNBC now they are saying that sources indicate that Fox may get higher bids for the assets they are selling to Disney.Am obviously talking my own book here but have always thought the bid by Sky was on the low side. Could be time for the independent directors to earn their corn.

Re: CMA I reckon it's a sell right now and I've just offloaded mine. Bidding for Premiership rights is about to happen and Sky will seem less attractive if they lose out. Similarly if they are deemed to have over paid then I think the market could react negatively.Good luck for holders and I hope you get your better offer.

JakNife 01 Feb 2018

Re: CMA There are a number of activist investors who've bought into SKY recently who have a reputation for lobbying for higher prices, eg see:[link] I think that the chances of Disney paying more are better than evens and am holding on that basis.

evenlongershot 01 Feb 2018

Re: CMA could a rival bidder come in at this point? Or Fox be pressured to up their bid from institutional investors? Broker targets and market chatter suggests £10.75 is a low ball offer anyway. Plus the sp is creeping up to pretty much bid point. I daren't sell out at this point just in case!
