What are Fox/ Disney up to And Comcast for breaking the Fox rip off of stock holders, supported by the independent board of directors.
What are Fox/ Disney up to So it’s £17.28 per share. That’s way better than the £16 I was holding out for so thank you Takeover Panel!
What are Fox/ Disney up to That’s it then Down to Murdoch to get the best price for his 39%, !! The takeover of broadcaster Sky will be settled by an auction, the UK’s Takeover Panel has announced. The broadcaster has been subject to rival bids from Rupert Murdoch’s Fox and US conglomerate Comcast. The Takeover Panel said that the auction would start at 170 London time on Friday and end on Saturday evening. It said all parties had agreed to the process, which will have a maximum of three rounds.
What are Fox/ Disney up to What happens if Fox formes a pact with other the top 2 shareholders (in aggregate 51.25%) to recommend the Fox offer of £14? They would have the necessary votes to carry the motion and Fox would save £1.2Bn in acquisition costs which they could share with the others in the Pact. I assume that is not legal?
What are Fox/ Disney up to Major Holders are as stated below. Skys associates seem to be Barclays, Morgan Stanley and PJT as mentioned in the RNS yesterday. Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. 672,783,139 39.1% UBS AG (Investment Management) 118,214,436 6.88% Société Générale Gestion SA 90,570,738 5.27% The Baupost Group LLC 81,650,880 4.75% HSBC Global Asset Management (UK) Ltd. 61,715,318 3.59% BNP Paribas Asset Management France SAS 49,772,080 2.90% BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Ltd. 34,493,098 2.01% The Vanguard Group, Inc. 32,618,743 1.90% Legal & General Investment Management Ltd. 25,129,360 1.46% Norges Bank Investment Management 23,301,202 1.36% Holding in Sky ROKU INC CL B 2,671,940 4.70% 121,359,515 USD
What are Fox/ Disney up to Is it possible, indeed can they, or would it make any sense to, for Fox/Disney to be delaying the process so that they can try to acquire the 12% through intermediaries on the open market at the £1520-£1535 range. Fox Already own 39% and 51% is needed for control of sky. Comcast would like 100% of the company but would settle for control if not possible. Should Fox/Disney obtain 51% would that take Comcast out of the equation? Just trying to explain to myself why many of the daily RNS refer to major Financials stating they are acting as intermediaries for Fox. Prefer Comcast myself as Murdock was trying to get the company very cheaply, at an opportune time.
Hedge Fund tips Sky Crispin Odey is quoted in today’s paper as saying the bidding war for Sky could continue all summer with the shares going up to £50 each. Yes please!
Re: 9/12/2016 - Told you so I prefer to have impartial and intelligent friends that can interpret facts correctly!
Re: 9/12/2016 - Told you so I doubt 'bt man' is actually Gavin Charismatic-Patterson, but to be fired for failing to effect change at BT seems unfair. Nobody has managed to effect change at BT since privatisation....well culturally anyway. Still the slow moving bureaucratic, political dinosaur it always was. Farewell GC-P.
Re: 9/12/2016 - Told you so Cimbom how nice of you to partly remember one of my posts from over a year ago.. touching . Just to correct you a little though I think what I actually said in agreeing with Hardboy was that the interpretation of the chart used in article [link] was irrelevant and that if the bid progressed the 1075 offer would be the likely share price but if didn't the chart would actually suggest a price near 700 would bring it back in line with with its previous trend (before the bid). Given that the fincial performance of the company over the past 18 months has been pretty stagnant, clearly the interest of comcast and fox looking to find ready made internet streaming capability (not satelite) is continuing to distort the price which is a pleasant bonus to us with shares in them. Please try to be a little less arrogant, you might even find you make some friends.

Comcast have announced they are in advanced stages of making a bid for Fox 21 assets (the same assets as the Disney bid).
Re: U.K. Clears Way for Comcast's Sky Bid as... All moving to the conclusion of the bidding war.I think Fox and Disney have given enough undertakings, especially vis-a-vis Murdoch control.
U.K. Clears Way for Comcast's Sky Bid as Race Tightens With Fox The U.K. government intends to allow Comcast Corp.s 22 billion-pound ($30 billion) bid for Sky Plc to move ahead, a boost for the U.S. cable giant as it vies with 21st Century Fox Inc. for Britains largest pay-TV company.Comcasts offer for Sky doesnt trigger public-interest concerns that would meet the threshold for intervention, Culture Secretary Matt Hancock said in a statement. The decision could put Comcast ahead of Rupert Murdochs Fox in the regulatory race for Sky, as Fox is still expecting the final call on its 11.7-billion pound bid for the 61 percent of the broadcaster it doesnt own in the coming weeks. Hancock has invited interested parties to give feedback on his intention by Thursday, after which he will come to a final decision.
GBP/USD Exchange rate Sterling has been falling the last month or so.All good news fo us shareholders as it makes an bidding war more affordable for Disney and Comcast.I expect £15 pls as the final price.Just want the Culture Secretary to get the finger out.
