Re: Now which way Bernie I think an air of pessimism hangs over SIV, no buyers a lot of losers at present, what should be remembered is this company has a success rate of consistent dividends and operating profit for 8 of the last 10 years and one of those was during the last downturn and the last set of figures were poor, I have seen this share up and down, basically its whether you have faith in historical analysis or a less objective short term view, personally i would and have gone for the former, if your more than halfway to nowhere, you can say your also halfway to somewhere and thats where we all are now hoping that somewhere is up, be optimistic ha ha i am regards
Re: Now which way Buying back in hasn't been my greatest investment choice and I must be down ~20% now.The property sale only chips at the debt so is neither here nor there. I'm convincing myself that the fact that we've not had a trading update means things havn't got any worse than previously reported. Mind you, it also means they've not get any better !I'm holding what I have but feel no urge to add to my holding.
Re: Now which way Well I suppose selling a property investment counts as a disposal. It is now nearly 3 months after the interims so we are due an update on the strategic review of the marketing activation and books divisions. My guess is potential buyers are pretty scarce so the strategic options will be limited. Still too early to buy.
Re: Now which way Dug a bigger hole Friday, and bought some more, hope i can dig myself out if need be ha ha
Re: Now which way I think you are possibly right about the uptake for any potential buyers, i continue to hold a view that like you SIV will look better in the cold light of an update, Basically this an international company with plenty of diversity and that for me makes the price look cheap, alas the financial figures dictate it as fully priced at present, Ill be buying again tomorrow if the price remains as low as today
Re: Now which way Auction crossed at 48p with a bit of selling pressure. The 1 month chart is not looking good. I think the potential buyers will continue to stand back until there is an update from the company on the disposals and current trading.
Re: Now which way I think down a bit more in the short term. The shares look a bit drifty at the moment and probably need a reassuring trading update to make any progress. I'm keeping an eye on it but still think it's too early to start buying.
Re: Now which way Good luck, then.
Re: Now which way Bernie I have been in and out of this share for the last 10 or 12 years, and recently bought back in again. I like you see this with more upside than down, and will continue to build my holding with that view. Historically a well run company with many selling it down when the digital era took over supposedly!! in the noughties, its risen and sunk since 2008 on a couple of occasions, and if they get a new CEO in, think it will bounce back in 12 months Regards
Re: Shares suspended Sorry Boring, you are right. I should not have terrified St Ives shareholders.
Re: Shares suspended Given Marktime has sold up here, holds DX and posts on the DX board, I think you'll find he already knows NumberBiter !Starting a new thread called "Shares Suspended" on a board about another share rather than just replying to the existing thread seems a bit odd, that's all. You could at least have made the title "DX Shares Suspended" so it was clearer !
Re: Shares suspended I was replying to Marktime (see post below).
Re: Shares suspended Wrong board mate.
Shares suspended Following the proposed reverse takeover of John Menzies Distribution Division, DX's shares have been suspended. It is impossible to assess what will happen next, but I should imagine it will take some time to resolve the matter.
Re: Now which way Maritime, I think DX could well recover. The company took a massive impairment hit in the last accounts, but this had no adverse impact on cash. I think the share has been massively oversold and in my view a price of 20p is easily attainable, In fact, the share is so underpriced that I would buy them, apart from one thing - I don't buy shares on the AIM market as the prices quoted often bear no relation to financial realiry. In my view many AIM shares are either heavily overpriced or massively underpriced and I cannot work out why? The market seems so illogical to me. So best of luck.
