Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE There's no doubt Mr Lee is wanting to build a large stake. The question is does he actually want to take over the company. We get an RNS with every extra 1% stake he holds. I get the impression that he is filling his boots whenever the share price drops below £9, and holding off if it's above there. When the share price was hovering around 890 we were getting an RNS every 2 weeks; but in the last 4 weeks the share price has generally been above £9, and it has taken twice as long for his next increase to be notified. I'm just surprised there I have seen no press speculation about what he's up to; and no word from the directors.
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE Well with the £ being weak, I guess its a cheap way to buy into UK property for overseas investors
DIRECTOR BUYS Sally Walden, Non Executive Director, bought 20,000 shares in the company on the 7th March 2017 at a price of 919.49p. The Director now holds 60,000 shares. 7th March, good stuff, K.C.M.
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE And he's carrying on.4 weeks ago he crossed the 15% limit, 2 weeks ago he went above 16%; and today he's above 17%.Is he just going to steadily acquire shares till in just over a year he has to make bid?
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE And now he's nearly got 16.5%. Whenever the share price drops below £9 he seems to be buying.
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE Glad to know I'm not just a lonely voice crying in the wilderness.
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE I don't think that the Chinese will be able to resist buying Shaftesbury at some time. Hence our holding.
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE And now he has 15%. Still a long way before he has to make a bid, but if he isn't going to make a bid, why the accumulation?
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE And now above 14%.What's his game?
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE And now above 13%.
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE And now he owns over 12%. Are we going to see a bid soon?
Re: Market Movements So in the post Brexit world where Property shares are out of favour, Shaftesbury has a run up to an new all time (or at least post financial crisis - can't be bothered to check) high, then completely dropped out of favour. If it was in favour when other property shares weren't 3-4 weeks ago, why is it now so out of favour?
Market Movements It hit a new high last week, then has gone into free fall. This market is jittery. We need a stable forex & a stable oil price. (Almost at whatever level - stability is more important than the level.) And we need the post Brexit world to become more clear. Sadly I'm not optimistic about any of those things happening in the near future.
Re: SAMUEL TAK LEE And now he's got over 9%.While the share price has recovered in stellar fashion since Brexit, the £ has fallen, so Mr Lee may still se the shares as cheap. The intriguing thing about his previous approach was he wasn't trying to buy the whole company. What is he up to?
Invesco Interesting with all the panic surrounding UK commercial property that SHB is holding up well; and reassuring to see Invesco increase its stake.
