Re: SG Marketplace Apologies - they did give an update at the time of the AGM at the end of July. However the last 6 weeks has been so awful for the share price that I hope they will give an update shortly.

Re: SG Marketplace Thanks for finding and sharing these. This is a worry. I was thinking the price weakness was due to China worries, and therefore concerns that the offices in Hong Kong & Singapore could be affected. This may still be the case, but if, as it seems there long awaited on line trading platform is a disaster then who ever is responsible for the market testing deserves punishment which I probably would get censored for mentioning; and they need to sort it out FAST!The latest news from the company is almost 3 months old, but was relatively up beat - "strong opportunities for growth" type of thing. We need an update very soon. We don't want to wait another 2 months for the interims. Oh that quarterly updates were mandatory!

Re: Check out Avarae (AVR) results When I select LSE & enter AVR, I get this message: "No match found for AVR." but I've just checked on Morningstar & it's an investment trust. I'll have a look later.

Turmoil All this turmoil in equity markets & commodity prices falling through the floor, & forex all over the place, you'd think some folk would be looking for alternative investments, like stamps & coins & medals. All equity prices are getting hit irrespective of business performance, but one might hope this turmoil could be good for SGI

Re: Finals They have made 2 sizeable acquisitions, opened a new office in Singapore (I think - may be HK, I can't be bothered to check) & invested a lot in their on line offering which can explain all these issues. As I said it has been a transitional period, so it is hard to make too much sense of the figures. We have to see how things settle down from here.Personally I like to see profitable companies with net cash increasing their dividend each year, but when a business has a net debt position I am quite happy for them to not increase the dividend. Borrowing money to pay investors is not good business sense IMHO.

Re: Finals There are also a numbers of "adjustments" to net profit and profits appear to be falling whilst turnover is rising. This could be sensible investment or indicative of something else.I'll wait for some informed comment before taking a final decission on the shares.Jim

Re: Finals Didn't anyone notice that they just cut the dividends to 5p? I have owned the shares since 2007 and they have never failed to increase the dividends every year until now. I don't like the smell of this. Shouldn't a healthy business be generating excess cash to be returned to shareholders via buyback or dividends. My other concern is the net debt of £11.7million compared to cash balance of £8.7million last year. Is this the reason behind the cut, that their financial position has weakened? Profit can always be fudged but you can't fake cold hard cash.
