NEW ARTICLE: Trends and Targets for 10/12/2015 " STAGECOACH GROUP PLC (LSE:SGC) This featured in the newspapers on Wednesday and the share price seems to have taken a pretty thorough hammering due to whatever it said. As the chart shows, the share price has been forcefully moved below its ..."[link]

Market reaction I expected a drop today due to the cautious outlook; but it must be pretty rare when a company announces double digit rises in sales, profit, EPS & 9.4% rise in dividend to see the share price fall nearly 15%.I think the fall is overdone, but with the market reacting so badly it will be followed with broker downgrades which will push the price lower still, IMO. I agree with PR that it's a good entry point, but would suggest letting markets settle down first. The future is Public Transport, throughout the developed world. SGC have a good future. IMHO.

Re: weakness Well I just topped up, more than doubled my holding. Seems to be holding up well after the initial fall. I'll take my chances - I usually miss them.PR - will buy more if it goes lower.

Re: weakness 'Can only get better from here - a good buying opportunity to get into this cash machine. All IMHO'With the drop today it would be too soon to catch the falling knife.I think this has lot further to drop, may be after the dead cat bounce.

Re: weakness 'IC rates SGC as 'sell'. ' The Kiss of Death.Questor tipped SGC on Monday - Also the Kiss of DeathAnd just to top it off, I bought back in recently, should have warned everybody - My middle name is Jonah (just joking)Can only get better from here - a good buying opportunity to get into this cash machine. All IMHO

Re: weakness The latest trading update (late August) mentioned the effect of the low oil price, but seemed to say it was only an issue in N America. All their branches of business (except N America) were showing a good increase in turnover and they said they had no reason to change their full year expectations. So I don't really buy it. To me it looks very much oversold.

weakness There has been a view that the lower oil price would lead to more use of cars and les use of buses and trains. However, the sp has been looking very weak for some time and there may be a bigger problem somewhere. Am under water on this share.

Weakness The fact that Stagecoach's price has tumbled in line with shares in general on fears of a slowdown in China & emerging markets, when all of Stagecoach's business is in the UK & North America, where economical growth is looking healthy, would suggest that it is way oversold & a great buying opportunity. However markets have been rebounding in recent days whilst Stagecoach's share price has remained anchored around its recent low.Is this anything to do with the bus crash in Coventry? Or is there a more fundamental reason? Opinions welcomed. The bus crash was tragic, and the bus driver was past normal retirement age; and no doubt the operator will pay out some large sums in compensation, but I have not seen anything to suggest any wrong doing on behalf of the operator.

Stagecoach value vs Firstgroup I read a recommendation on fool.com for Stagecoach, but I have also been looking at Firstgroup.I have been using this site to do valuations and Stagecoach looks like far better value:[link]

Looks like ... .... somebody's took Damocles sword, broke it over their knee and flung the bits over the fence ...... I haven't quite figured out what it all means yet. Definitely no re-regulation of trains etc? Or, we'll all be less well off .... enough to travel by bus?Interesting times.R

Re: NEW ARTICLE: Stagecoach rockets on E... Reddyreck"Shame about the tourist stuff in the States......"Re profits warning from US and UK bus ops. [link] last time they hit trouble in the US business, the SP dropped to c.12p, that was in 2003-4 and I picked up a load at 17p, unfortunately unloaded as they went up with last tranche sold at about 90p. Have been in and out since - SGC have been good for me, but would not touch them at the moment. I don't like the train business although its producing good profits at present, but it seems like a political Sword of Damocles hanging over their head. The latter was the reason I sold out of NEX many years ago.If/when the price is right, I will be back in here.

Re: NEW ARTICLE: Stagecoach rockets on E... I think you've got your decimal point wrong in the NAV. With a share price of 351 & a NAV of 1380 you could not claim it was overvalued!Net debt reduced from £536m to £431m in 2.5 years, so debt position improving, as is turnover profits & dividend.
