NEW ARTICLE: Trends and Targets for 29/09/2017 " FRIDAY FTSE, RYANAIR & BOOHOO (LSE:RYA & LSE:BOO) While no-one has actually asked about Boohoo nor Ryanair, we've been wanting to comment. If only due to utter dislike of Ryanair as a people carrier (due to travel experience) and Boohoo as ..."[link]

Re: boarding cards Thanks EduKated. Problem now solved by trial and error. As you can only print cards up to 4 days ahead, you cannot print a return flight a week later. So, Ryanair, in their infinite wisdom want you to click on to the circle 'book in later' on the return flight, even though you know you can only print the outward flight. Not obvious and something the 'live chat' were unable to mention.Strangely, our seat numbers of 3c and 5c are much more convenient than those where people have paid £4. Agree with other posters that historically, Ryanair have been generally cheaper than others and, serving so many airports, will continue to be heavily booked. However, if Norwegian Air are successfully targeting Ryanair pilots, Ryanair will have to increase salaries or may find themselves targeted by other upcoming airlines for routes they now hold. If Norwegian Air are expanding, it must be at the expense of others.
Re: boarding cards The share price hasn't been overly affected. Unfortunately of course Ryanair is the only option for people to fly certain routes and from certain cities. And I've found it generally a lot cheaper than Easyjet or Flybe. So a boycott of Ryanair is'nt feasibleI believe Ryanair should face heavy fines for this. Otherwise it could set dangerous precedent.Perhaps in a period of high fuel cost and flight is only 2/3 full, it could be economial to cancel flight.I know people for whom airlines have refused to pay compensation for things like cabin crew working maximum legal hours. Its probably not economical to have staff on standby, and better to take occassional hit.
Re: boarding cards Re Ryanair printing of boarding cards. In the past couple of months I've become aware that I am unable to print my boarding cards if I am logged into Internet Explorer (don't know version but getting on I guess). Switch to Chrome and log on again, and all prints first time. Just a thought.
printing boarding card This morning I received an email saying that I had 2 days left to check-in otherwise, if I arrived at the airport without printing the card, i would be charged £50. Check-in NOW it advised. All my details are there but when you reach the screen saying continue to print, the continue rectangle is not highlighted and you cannot therefore print. Once again, the 'live chat' service is not available as 'all our seem seem to be busy'. Can see profits falling drastically if this company continues with its current extortionate attitude.
boarding cards Despite having a flight paid for on Friday, i find i am unable to print my boarding card. The message on site says you can print it 'up to 2 hours before take off' but if the site wont let you in , how can you do it? Never had this problem before. The live chat service says ' all our staff are busy'. Is this company falling apart or is it another way of extracting money to book a seat or even more money levied for not providing a printed card at the airport? Disgraceful treatment of customers which has become the hallmark of Ryanair I'm afraid.Anyone else having problems?
Re: Norwegian Air Poaching Pilots Missed that one off.Imvho and please dyor
Norwegian Air Poaching Pilots I don't post that often and when I do these days its normally on the negative side as there can be money to be made.Compensation payments for the cancelled flights fiasco should start to bite (About 25 Mill initial estimates) and the many cancellations and further negative publicity will cast assertions on the reliability of the service. This all coming after the summer controversy over middle seat allocations and the splitting up of families if they didn't pay extra and pre-book seats together. When the trust starts to go then so does the repeat custom of many customersSo what actually is to be believed. Is it messed up leave planning bad weather and ATC strikes or could it be that the articles on Norwegian Air poaching pilots have an element of truth and point to perhaps wider and lengthy issues. It does however all point to turbulence and uncertainty and that's not good for the share price. In fact I'd be surprised if some large short positions didn't appear on Ryanair..Some articles.[link] ones seem to be hinting more at big number of a pilot losses to Norwegian Air[link] [link] and please dyor
Never Invested Although I have a number of airline stocks I have never invested here as I have never felt comfortable with the trustworthiness of the management towards both investors and customers.Current problems back this up and I am amazed that the share price is not hit harder. I suppose it will come in instalments as the managements actions impact on the bottom line. I will stay away from this stock.
Re: Flight cancelations I can never fathom how Ryanair decide on their ideas, they're unexpected, so, even though I have spent over 1000 hours in the air I would never fly with this airline
cancellations If a carrier cannot fulfil its commitments for spurious reasons or mismanagement as in this case, it should:-a) have to pay full consequential loss , including prepayment of hotels , extra costs of transfer to another airport etcb) have the slots that they are unable to fulfill cancelled and offered to other carriers who are able to meet customers advance bookingsc) be subjected to heavy fines by the aviation regulators and warned as to their future conduct. In short, hit them in the pocket where it hurts most.
Flight cancelations I fly with Ryanair from Birmingham to Alicante return about 8 times a year. I put up with their increasingly annoying pricing tricks because they are more reliable than their competition. The announcement that they will be cancelling 2000 flights over the next 6 weeks and that I might be stranded in Alicante airport fills me with dread. I won't be flying with Ryanair again. I don't think I will be alone in this decision.
well said Although I am not currently invested in RYA, I take my hat off to the management for their sheer guts in taking on Merkel & co. I particularly liked this Trump'ic statement:"Ryanair has today (15 Aug) lodged competition complaints with the German Bundeskartellamt and the European Commission regarding the obvious conspiracy playing out in Germany between the German Government, Lufthansa and Air Berlin to carve up Air Berlin's assets, while excluding major competitors and ignoring both EU competition and State Aid rules"Obvious conspiracy .... The UK BREXIT negotiators could use such a pair in their trousers.[link]
ALCOHOL CONTROL Today's RNS calls on airports to limit alcohol sales and announces ban on consumption of duty free alcohol on board. Golden opportunity for Ryanair to also announce limits of alcohol sold on board but, guess what ? No mention of limiting the excessively priced drinks menu once they've got you on board ! Yes, that's you, the captive audience !What a joke. You can see right through this one, Michael !"Money, money, money....."TP
